A new image from Toy Story 5 has been released via USA Today, offering a closer look at Bonnie’s growing attachment to the movie’s new tech toy, Lilypad.
The image shows Bonnie sitting on her bed, completely focused on the frog-shaped smart tablet, while Woody and Buzz watch from the shadows, literally left on the other side of the room.

Old-School Toys vs New Technology
USA Today describes the scene as old-school toys Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Tim Allen) and Woody (Tom Hanks) facing off against new technology in Pixar’s upcoming sequel.
The image reinforces what the teaser trailer already hinted at: Bonnie’s attention has shifted. Lilypad isn’t just another toy; it’s a screen, a game console, and a digital companion all rolled into one. And for Woody and Buzz, that shift may be the biggest threat they’ve ever faced.

Lilypad Changes the Rules of Playtime
Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee (Past Lives, The Morning Show, TRON: Ares), represents the movie’s central conflict — toys struggling to stay relevant in a world dominated by smart devices.
While Bonnie is clearly engaged and happy, Woody and Buzz appear sidelined, watching as their role in her life continues to shrink. The image visually sells the movie’s tagline: “The age of toys is over…?”
