With the Peter Dinklage The Toxic Avenger movie now getting a theatrical release thanks to Cineverse, a new over-the-top and wild trailer has been released.

What is The Toxic Avenger about?
The flick follows Dinklage as downtrodden janitor Winston Gooze who is involved in a horrible toxic accident that transforms Gooze into a new evolution of hero: THE TOXIC AVENGER!
Now wielding a glowing mop with super-human strength, he must race against time to save his son and stop a ruthless and power-hungry tyrant bent on harnessing toxic superpowers to strengthen his polluted empire.

Elija Wood plays a villain named Fritz Garbinger, with Kevin Bacon playing his brother, corporate overlord Bob Garbinger, who have a gang of dangerous lunatics at their disposal known as Killer Nutz, comprised of murderers and musicians.

Taylour Paige is also playing JJ Doherty, described as part investigative reporter and part vigilante detective, and Jacob Tremblay is playing Dinklage’s stepson Wade, described as a special kid who’s sweet but he’s got some anxiety issue that is all compounded by this lack of connection with his new father.
The film is written and directed and also stars Macon Blair, with Sarah Niles, Julian Kostov, and Jane Levy.

Blair directed the film from a screenplay he wrote based on Lloyd Kaufman’s “The Toxic Avenger” (1984). The film is produced by Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz. The executive producers are Andrew Pfeffer, Jay Ashenfelter and Macon Blair with casting by Mark Bennett and Julie Harkin.
Blair’s collaborators behind the camera include Emmy Award winning director of photography, Dana Gonzalez; production designer Alexander Cameron; editors Brett W. Bachman and James Thomas; visual effects supervisor Chris Ritvo; costume designer Vanessa Porter; with music by Will Blair and Brooke Blair.

The Toxic Avenger will be released as an unrated wide release on August 29, 2025, which kicks off Labor Day weekend.
