Tom Hardy’s MobLand Replacement Already Being Eyed As Season 3 Moves On Without Him

Tom Hardy’s MobLand Replacement Already Being Eyed As Season 3 Moves On Without Him

Tom Hardy may not be completely done with MobLand, but the latest update from Puck News makes it sound like Paramount is already preparing for life without him.

Puck’s Matthew Belloni, who first reported Hardy was fired from the hit Paramount+ crime series, now reports Paramount is hoping to arrange some kind of meeting between Hardy and producers to resolve the behind-the-scenes drama.

However, that doesn’t mean a comeback, as Puck also reports producers have already put feelers out for a name actor in Hardy’s age range to join the show in Season 3.

Paramount Reportedly Wants A Meeting With Tom Hardy

According to Puck News, Hardy could still get a “mea culpa meeting” with producers after his reported forced exit from MobLand.

Hardy is said to have made peace with the exit, while producer Jez Butterworth has not agreed to a sit-down. Butterworth is reportedly the showrunner who gave Paramount a Hardy-or-me ultimatum over Hardy’s alleged behavior during production on Season 2.

Producer David Glasser is reportedly open to a meeting, and Paramount is said to be hoping to set up some kind of get-together to resolve the issue.

MobLand Season 3 Is Already Being Written Without Hardy

But Puck also says the Season 3 writers room is already open and writing without Hardy in mind.

Again, even more telling, producers have reportedly put feelers out for a name actor in Hardy’s age range to join the series.

While Paramount may be saying there is still a chance to fix things, the show is already being written without Hardy, and the producers are already looking around for someone else.

This Feels Like The Witcher All Over Again

As I previously went over, the obvious comparison is Henry Cavill and The Witcher.

Netflix lost Henry Cavill as Geralt and replaced him with Liam Hemsworth. On paper, the show continued. In reality, a lot of fans checked out the moment Cavill left.

Cavill was not just the lead actor. He was the reason many fans trusted the show in the first place. Once he was gone, The Witcher lost a major part of its identity.

MobLand risks the same problem with Tom Hardy.

Hardy is not some side character who can be swapped out. His Harry Da Souza is the hook of the series. He’s the character who gives MobLand its edge, its attitude, and its star power.

Fans don’t care about behind-the-scenes drama, they care about watching their favorite shows.

Replacing Hardy with another actor in the same age range might make sense on a casting sheet, but it doesn’t solve the real problem.

Fans don’t just want another name actor.

They want Tom Hardy.
