The new Spawn movie is officially a go!

Creator Todd McFarlane has taken to Facebook from Comic-Con to announce the Spawn movie has partnered with producer Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Productions, which is responsible for hit movies such as Insidious, The Purge, Split, Paranormal Activity and more.

In the video below, a rather excited Todd McFarlane notes the Spawn movie is going into production, and also drops a tidbit that Kevin Smith is developing a Sam and Twitch TV series for the BBC.

Todd McFarlane created Spawn back in 1992 when he and a group of Marvel artists left the company to form Image Comics.

The first Spawn movie aired back in 1997 starring Michael Jai White.
