Thor: Ragnarok: Hela Can Create Weapons From Her Body

Earlier saw the first Thor: Ragnarok images released in addition to plot details for Cate Blanchett’s Hela, the goddess of death.

In the latest interview with EW.com, Blanchett describes Hela as arriving “with a lot of baggage” and that Hela is “a little bit cross.”

It’s revealed that Hela escapes her prison as a result of Loki stealing the throne from Odin.

“She’s been locked away for millennia, getting more and more cross, and then, with a mistake, she get unleashed and she ain’t getting back in that box,” said Blanchett.

Cate Blanchett also reveals Hela can create weapons from her body in Thor: Ragnarok.

“She’s able to manifest weapons. Her headdress can be weapons. She can manifest weapons out of different parts of her body. I won’t tell you which — I’ll leave that hanging,” said Blanchett.

The article also suggests that Hela takes control of Asgard away from Loki, which Blanchett didn’t confirm or deny, and Blanchett also talked about her fight scenes.

“There’s a bit of wire work. I worked with the legend Zoe Bell (Grindhouse). I did as much as was humanly possible for a middle-aged mother of four [laughs],” Blanchett said. “I learned so much. All sorts of capoeira stuff. All the stunts and the fights were really interestingly choreographed. But I did train, ostensibly, so I wouldn’t injure myself.”

Another plot point regarding Hela is that her attack on Thor sends the son of Asgard to the planet Sakaar where Thor meets up with the Hulk.

Thor: Raganarok has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk/Banner, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster,  Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Sam Neill in an unknown role.
