Chris Pratt is headed to New York Comic Con this fall to promote his upcoming sci-fi thriller Mercy. The actor released a teaser on social media confirming he will be at the Javits Center for NYCC, which takes place October 9–12, 2025.

Amazon MGM Studios’ Mercy, directed by Timur Bekmambetov, will hit cinemas worldwide on January 23, 2026.
Plot and Cast
Set in the near future during a spike in capital crime, Mercy follows a detective (Pratt) accused of a violent crime and forced to clear his name. The cast includes:

- Kali Reis (True Detective: Night Country)
- Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders, The Mummy)
- Chris Sullivan (This Is Us)
- Kenneth Choi (9-1-1)

- Jeff Pierre (Walker)
The script comes from Marco van Belle (Arthur & Merlin). Producers include Charles Roven (Oppenheimer), Robert Amidon, Bekmambetov, and Majd Nassif.

Pratt’s Return to Sci-Fi
Pratt previously starred in Amazon’s The Tomorrow War (featured image above), which became one of Prime Video’s most-watched movies during the pandemic. Mercy marks his return to high-concept sci-fi with a theatrical release.
Of course, he also starred as Marvel’s Star-Lord in the James Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
Pratt is currently starring in The Terminal List on Prime Video, with Season 2 in the works, and Pratt stars in the spinoff prequel, Dark Wolf, which premieres August 27, 2025.
