The Mummy 4 Sets May 2028 Release Date With Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz Returning

The Mummy 4 is officially set for a May 19, 2028 theatrical release, with Oscar winners Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz returning to Universal’s adventure franchise.

Universal confirmed the next installment is in development, marking a full-circle moment for the series after the failed 2017 reboot.

Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz Return

Fraser headlined the original trilogy, while Weisz starred in the first two films.

Together, the original trilogy grossed over $1.8 billion worldwide and became one of Universal’s most successful modern franchises.

The 2017 reboot starring Tom Cruise failed to launch a shared “Dark Universe,” making this reunion a clear course correction.

Who’s Behind The Mummy 4?

The film will be directed by the filmmaking duo known as Radio Silence — Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett — from a screenplay by David Coggeshall (The Family Plan, Orphan: First Kill).

Sean Daniel, who produced the original trilogy and the 2017 reboot, returns as producer.

Project X Entertainment’s William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein are also producing. Fraser will executive produce alongside Jason F. Brown and Denis Stewart.

Universal executives Jay Polidoro and Jacqueline Garell are overseeing the production for the studio.
