The Marvels Bombs On Disney+: One Of Least Watched MCU Movies

The Marvels Bombs On Disney+: One Of Least Watched MCU Movies

Summary

  • The Marvels has failed on both Disney+ and in theaters
  • It is the worst-performing MCU movie at the box office and among the least-watched on Disney+
  • Nielsen has provided ratings

No surprise as it’s learned The Marvels has massively bombed and failed on the Disney+ streaming service just as it did in theaters.

The flick is the MCU’s worst movie at the box office and the worst-performing superhero movie in all of existence.

Well, now it’s also one of the worst-performing MCU films on Disney+.

So if you thought fans were simply waiting for a streaming release, guess again.

Numbers don’t lie

Nielsen has released the numbers for the week The Marvels debuted on Disney+, Feb. 5 – 11, 2024, which puts it at 558 Minutes (Millions).

Check out the comparisons below which includes the MCU movies released since Black Widow debuted on Disney+.

The only movie that did worse looks to be Eternals, which actually didn’t show up on the Nielsen ratings the week of its release but managed to show up the following week with similar numbers to that of The Marvels.

Both movies represent the bottom of the barrel in the MCU, so that’s really not a surprise.

We also see the big bomb of Quantumania beats out The Marvels as does Thor: Love and Blunder, and there is simply no comparison to Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Black Panther 2, and Doctor Strange 2.

Rumors offer a Captain Marvel 3 isn’t going to happen and Brie Larson had nothing to recently say about her Marvel future.

Iman Vellani is also begging fans to petition Disney for a Young Avengers project, which let’s be honest, no one wants and will be as much or a bigger disaster than The Marvels and the Disney+ shows like She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, and Secret Invasion.

A Disney exec also recently said Bob Iger is bringing back the boys following Disney’s failure to adapt the Marvel female characters.

Oh, and Disney confirmed The Marvels lost them $200 million.
