The Acolyte again fails to make the Nielsen ratings charts for the third week in a row with Episode 6.

Disney has the Nielsen ratings automatically turned on in your Disney+ accounts.

At a cost reportedly north of $200 million, the show is a massive bust for Disney+. Bob Iger previously confirmed a $4 billion streaming loss for Disney.

Nielsen Ratings July 1 – July 7, 2024

Nielsen has released its ratings for the week Episode 6 of The Acolyte was released on Disney+.

At the bottom is Netflix’s The Man with 1000 Kids at #10 which comes in at 332 minutes (millions).

Since The Acolyte is a no-show that means Episode 6 is lower than that 332. Previous episodes were lower than 319 and 298.

  • The Mandalorian Season 2: 994 (three days of measurement)
  • Mando S3: 1,031

Will there be The Acolyte Season 2?

The Acolyte Season 2 is in doubt due to the low ratings and the high cost of the show.

For comparison, Ahsoka will have a Season 2 that has double the viewership at half the cost of The Acolyte.

Leslye Headland, from what I have heard, is also done at Lucasfilm. She has also said she hasn’t heard anything about a second season.

Disney shills are trying to drum up support for The Acolyte Season 2, but instead they should focus their efforts on petitioning Disney for better Star Wars shows. No one watched The Acolyte. If there does happen to be a second season, the series definitely needs a new showrunner.
