Scoop Confirmed: Taika Waititi Star Wars On ‘Indefinite Hold’

Following my Lucasfilm insiders filling me in at Comic-Con that the Taika Waititi Star Wars movie is done for, the scoopers are finally playing catch up and are reporting exactly what I said.

I said due to Thor: Love and Thunder that the Taika Waititi Star Wars movie is no longer happening.

Now months later, scooper Daniel RPK says more of the same.

“Taika Waititi’s STAR WARS movie is reportedly on ‘indefinite hold,’” says Daniel RPK via the Star Wars Holocron fan X account.

I believe the last we heard from Waititi was that he hadn’t even finished his script, yet, and this wouldn’t be the first Star Wars project scrapped, so none of this should come as a surprise.

Waititi also recently said he is done with Thor and Marvel. According to my insiders, Waititi got the boot from Thor: Love and Thunder and didn’t finish the movie, which is why he got the boot from Star Wars.

We can also guess Waititi’s take on Star Wars probably would have been goofy, which doesn’t fit with Star Wars at all. Waititi joked it would piss off the fans.

Recently also saw the news that Taika Waititi’s Time Bandits reboot at Apple TV+ has been canceled after only one month of release.

The same insiders also filled me in the new Daisy Ridley movie is happening, which is contrary to recent rumors. I don’t know if anything has changed since July.

According to reports, Bob Iger is pulling back on Star Wars and wants to put out quality content.
