Season Five of Award-winning Series from Cartoon Network Studios EMEA Returns this Fall

Cartoon Network today announces that it has greenlit a sixth season of the global hit animated series, The Amazing World of Gumball, further building on the studio’s hugely successful comedy slate and the show’s outstanding performance to date. Produced in the UK and Germany, the mixed media family sitcom has become a global favorite since it first launched in 2010.

The multiple award-winning series has scooped 28 international awards to date including six BAFTAs and an Emmy®. Season five is slated to begin airing from September 2016 internationally and is set to premiere next year in North America.

Now in its fourth season, The Amazing World of Gumball cleverly combines live action with 2D and 3D animation to chart the adventures of the energetic and fearless blue cat—Gumball—and his idiosyncratic family, the Wattersons. The series is created by Ben Bocquelet, executive produced by Sarah Fell and series-directed by Mic Graves.

The show reached more than 165 million viewers globally in Q1 2016. Last year’s EMEA-developed app Rainbow Ruckus also ranked number one in the iTunes paid apps chart in 27 countries across the globe and was a top #5 paid app in 65 countries in its launch week.To date, Gumball has produced almost 7 million app downloads worldwide, attracted more than 9 million Facebook fans and has generated 8 million views on its YouTube channel this year alone. Added to this, awareness and affinity among the channel’s core audience is at an all-time high and is growing among girl audiences too – in other words, kids love it!

The Amazing World of Gumball is an animated family sitcom for kids that offers a warm-hearted, funny and surreal kid perspective into everyday life, in a way that they and their families can relate to. Cartoon Network Confirms New Justice League Animated Series

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22105:]]

Following the discovery of the animated Justice League poster from a month ago, now a new animated Justice League series is confirmed by Cartoon Network.

Cartoon Network Canada responded to a fan question on their Facebook page with (via toonzone.net): “We will be premiering a new Justice League series, but not likely until next Fall.”

As noted by a forum poster, the Cartoon Network shows usually air later in Canada than in the U.S., so that would mean the new Justice League animated series – speculated to be titled “Justice League Action” – would debut at least in the Fall of 2016.

The last Justice League animated series aired back in 2006 with Justice League Unlimited, which is coming to Blu-Ray soon.

The news of the new Justice League animated series coincides with the launch of the DC movie universe including Batman Vs. Superman next March, Suicide Squad next August, followed by Wonder Woman and the Justice League Part 1 film.

What In The Sam Hell Did Cartoon Network Do To Scooby-Doo?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22259:]]

Scooby-Doo gets yet another relaunch on Cartoon Network, but this time the series undergoes a drastic change.

Cartoon Network posted a video on their Facebook page, which hasn’t been well received by fans of the series that first originated back in 1969.

The new series is called “Be Cool Scooby-Doo” and sees the animation changed to reflect the current trend of something along the lines of Adult SwimThe Simpsons and Rick and Morty.

Some of the popular comments on the thread include:

• This looks like it’s from an episode of family guy

• If you want to bring back scooby-doo then bring back Mystery inc that was a great series. Stop making horrible animated shows that are beyond stupid, especially when there once was a series of the same show that was epic, ie. Scooby-doo and Teen titans. I use to love this channel but now it’s just gone too far down hill. Bring back the 90’s and 00’s shows.

• I think the next mystery that Scooby-Doo and the gang should solve is why Cartoon Network keeps rebooting old shows and every time they do a reboot the animation style gets worse.

WB is bringing Scooby-Doo back to the big screen, which more than likely will feature the classic animation. Am I the only one that misses the more realistic styles of animation from the 80s/90s (Transformers, GI Joe, X-Men, Spider-Man)? I can’t stand the way most toons look nowadays.

Here’s another look at “Be Cool Scooby-Doo”:

According to The Nerdist, the title of the planned JL series is “Justice League: Action” and may actually not appear on Cartoon Network, but on Boomerang.

The report mentions the Justice League animated series at Boomerang rumor is actually a couple of months old, and that network plans can always change.

It remains to be seen whether an official announcement will be made, but with the Justice League movie coming out in 2017, WB may want to capitalize on a new animated series as well.

Rick and Morty Renewed For Third Season On Adult Swim

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21696:]]

Adult Swim has announced that they are ordering more intergalactic adventures with the season three pickup of the original hit animated comedy series, Rick and Morty. New episodes of the series air Sundays at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.

The series’ season two premiere on Sunday, July 26, ranked #1 in its time period among all key adults and men and charted triple-digit delivery gains over its prior season premiere (P18-24 +154%, P18-34 +117%, P18-49 +121%). The television audience continued to grow in the series’ second week, charting week-over-week gains of up to 27% among all key demos. The season two premiere of Rick and Morty fueled Adult Swim’s video streams in July’15, with an overall total of 29.7M streams, up +12% month-to-month. (Source: Nielsen Media Research Data, Omniture and YouTube Analytics)

“It’s an honor to see Rick and Morty join the exclusive club of shows with over nineteen episodes,” said co-creator and executive producer Dan Harmon. “It’s time to demand that the network allow us to draw the characters going to Hawaii.”

“I am blown away by the seemingly instant success of Rick and Morty. I look forward to continuing their adventures!” said co-creator and executive producer Justin Roiland.

In season two, Rick Sanchez (Justin Roiland) is still living with his daughter Beth’s (Sarah Chalke) family and causing more trouble than ever. This season the rest of the family, his son-in-law Jerry (Chris Parnell), grand-daughter Summer (Spencer Grammer) and grand-son Morty (Justin Roiland) are dragged into Rick’s intergalactic adventures, as he faces new threats and mysteries of his secret past are revealed. Can the family survive Rick’s insanity and all the chaos the universe throws at them?

Created and executive produced by Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland (Adventure Time), the half-hour animated series airing on Sundays at 11:30pm ET/PT follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe.
