Sebastian Stan Confirmed For Avengers: Infinity War

It’s revealed that Sebastian Stan will be returning as Winter Soldier for Avengers: Infinity War.

In THR‘s report on getting cast in We Have Always Lived in the Castle, it’s mentioned Sebastian Stan will shoot Avengers: Infinity War early next year.

Last we saw of the Winter Soldier, he was back in stasis under the watchful eye of Black Panther as shown at the end of Captain America: Civil War. With the info about Sebastian Stan appearing in Avengers: Infinity War coming out, we can speculate that possibly Winter Solider may be freed in the upcoming Black Panther movie, or it’s possible Winter Soldier could simply be freed to help out the heroes in Avengers: Infinity War.

Sebastian Stan hasn’t yet been confirmed for Black Panther, which hits February 16, 2018, followed by Avengers: Infinity War‘s May 4, 2018 release.

Watch: Michael B. Jordan Talks About Playing Black Panther Super Villain

Comic-Con saw it announced that Michael B. Jordan is playing the super villain in the Marvel Studios Black Panther movie with Erik Killmonger, a character in the comics that’s capable of going toe-to-toe and defeating T’Challa.

MTV caught up with Michael B. Jordan following the Marvel Studios panel and asked about getting the role questioning if there was any hesitance in not having the starring role. Jordan noted it was nothing about being the “alpha,” (but since he recently starred in Creed and as a hero in Fantastic Four), the only thing that worried him was playing a bad guy.

“My only hesitation was playing a villain,” Jordan offered. “It was always something that I’ve wanted to do — to play something completely different than any other character that I’ve ever played before. And under the right circumstances, this being it, you know. I feel safe. I feel safe to take those risks. Take those chances. That’s what I’m about to do.”

New Chadwick Boseman Black Panther Concept Art

Check out a batch of new Black Panther concept art from the Captain America: Civil War Art of the Movie book.

Chadwick Boseman plays Black Panther, with the solo movie due out February 16, 2018 also starring Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o, with Andy Serkis possibly back as Ulysses Klaue.

You can buy the Captain America: Civil War Art of the Movie book on Amazon. It’s loaded with images and info!

A cool tidbit revealed in the book is that the Russo brothers didn’t want Black Panther to have to rely on his claws all the time to fight, so that’s why they made the claws retractable — and also added Vibranium to the knuckles.

“The Russo brothers were very interested in having Panther be able to fight with claws, but not be tied to fighting with them all the time — the idea that he could retract them and still have a regular fistfight with someone,” Marvel concept artist Ryan Meinerding says. “So there are Vibranium claws that can extend and retract, and he also has pieces of Vibranium worked into his knuckles so when he fights he’s just as formidable with simple punches.”

However, Boyega’s agent recently took to Twitter to shoot down any notion of John Boyega joining Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan on Black Panther.

Michael B. Jordan Cast In Black Panther

It’s learned Michael B. Jordan has been cast in the upcoming Black Panther movie.

THR reports Michael B. Jordan may actually play a villain in the film, opposite Chadwick Boseman.

Jordan recently starred as the Human Torch in Fox’s Fantastic Four flop, which is not connected to the Marvel Studios movies.

Jordan also starred in Ryan Coogler’s Creed who is helming Black Panther as well.

Potential villains Jordan could play in Black Panther include: Man-Ape, Erik Killmonger, Achebe, Damon Dran, Death Tiger, Morgan, Solomon Prey, Sombre, T’shan, or how about Blade?

Star Wars’ Lupita Nyong’o is also said to be in negotiations to star in Black Panther.

Chris Evans also jumped ship from playing the Human Torch to Captain America; that worked out well, so should Michael B. Jordan.

Black Panther has a Feb. 2, 2018 release date.

Kevin Feige Comments On Captain America: Civil War Mid-Credit Scene

SPOILERS FOLLOW.

Captain America: Civil War features not one, but two post-credit scenes. The mid-credit scene features Bucky voluntarily going back under the cryogenic freeze because of the events that happened in the movie and the fact he’s still capable of being brainwashed.

The scene features Bucky, Cap and Black Panther, as Bucky is frozen at a location in Wakanda. Cap tells Black Panther if they know Winter Soldier is in Wakanda, they will come for him. Black Panther says let them, as the camera pans revealing Wakanda and a Black Panther statue.

Here is what Kevin Feige offered to Cinema Blend about the Captain America: Civil War mid-credit scene:

That was always sort of the idea for the end of the movie, and as the movie was being developed, it felt like it would be additionally cool to have that happen in Wakanda – a super advanced place. They’ve got something that he could go in. And also, it speaks to Panther’s arc. The person that he was out to kill early in the movie, he’s now nobly helping. And then, of course, that led organically to a cool moment, where Cap can go, ‘Thanks for doing this, but they’re going to come get you.’

“Captain America: Civil War” is now in theaters directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Synopsis:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity.
