Winona Ryder Confirms Beetlejuice 2

About nine months ago saw director Tim Burton confirm Winona Ryder will be returning for Beetlejuice 2, and now Ryder confirms herself while appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

“I think I can confirm it because Tim Burton did this interview,” Ryder told Meyers. “It was very hush-hush, top secret, ‘I don’t know what may happen, I don’t know,’ and then he was doing some press for Big Eyes and he did an on-camera interview and he said, ‘Oh yeah, we’re doing it, and Winona’s gonna be in it.’ So can I say…? I mean if he said it. But I really don’t know much more than anybody else.”

Back in February 2014, Michael Keaton stated he will be back for Beetlejuice 2 as well as he told MTV: “I’ve e-mailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff until relatively recently. I always said that’s the one thing I’d like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another. Now it looks like he is involved. And without giving too much away we’ve talked to each other, and e-mailed each other, and if he’s in, it’s going to be hard not to be in.”

Beetlejuice debuted in 1988 with Winona Ryder playing Lydia Deetz.

The sequel currently has no release date, but does have a script being worked on.
