Jim Lee Draws Wonder Woman With WB Logo Shield

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23183:]]

Check out a totally awesome drawing of Wonder Woman by DC Comics co-publisher and superstar artist Jim Lee.

It’s unknown presently what the image is for, but it’s possible the Wonder Woman pic is a variant cover of some sort.

We also see that Jim Lee added the “WB” logo inside Wonder Woman’s shield.

Gal Gadot stars as the big screen version of Wonder Woman in Batman Vs. Superman and the upcoming standalone movie.

Batman Vs. Superman Trailer Scores On Twitter

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23172:]]

While Captain America: Civil War crushed Batman Vs. Superman in terms of overall trailer viewings in its first 24 hours, the recent Dawn of Justice trailer took home the title for most talk on Twitter.

It’s reported that the Batman Vs. Superman trailer was tweeted even more than the Captain America: Civil War trailer in its first week and is #5 overall for the year.

While the Captain America: Civil War trailer shattered the world record with 61 million views in its first 24 hours to Batman Vs. Superman‘s 23 million (accounting for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter viewings, etc.), Batman Vs. Superman quite possibly may have surpassed Civil War in total as a quick look at various accounts on YouTube and Facebook seems to suggest BVS is now in the lead.

Numbers to date for both trailer viewings have yet to be released, but on WB’s YouTube channel, Batman Vs. Superman netted around 16.5 million views to Civil War‘s 8 million on Marvel’s YouTube. Likewise, on Facebook, Batman Vs. Superman is at 15 million views to Civil War‘s 5.3 million.

New Batman Vs. Superman Details Include Flash, Aquaman & Luthor

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23138:]]

Some new details about Batman Vs. Superman are learned from the Comic-Con Experience out of Brazil as costume designer Michael Wilkinson talked about Batman, Superman, Flash, Aquaman and Lex Luthor.

Ezra Miller already confirmed Flash for the movie, but now a new detail is learned in that this version of The Flash won’t be as powerful as the other Justice League members.

“He will have a small appearance and will not be as strong as the other Justice League Heroes.”

Wilkinson also offered:

“I’m not really at the liberty to talk about The Flash right now, but it’s something that you’ll be seeing in the future in our films. You do get a glimpse of him, of course, in Batman v Superman. But I’m really looking forward to taking the amazing, iconic costume for The Flash and interpreting it in a fresh way where Ezra Miller is playing The Flash. He’s an extraordinary performer, he has a sort of interesting sense of humor and the youth that will be great for Barry Allen and I think he’s going to make a great Flash.”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23139:]]

Wilkinson also teased that Jason Momoa’s Aquaman undergoes some sort of change in Batman Vs. Superman that sees him don two costumes.

“…have two uniforms in the movie. “He will start one way and will develop for a different look,” says Wilkinson.

Prior to the release of the latest Batman Vs. Superman trailer, WB revealed a scene which saw Superman as a bad guy unmasking Batman. Just as many fans online speculated, it’s a dream sequence as Wilkinson confirms it’s Batman’s nightmare. Note: The costume Batman is wearing in the scene has already been revealed to be “Nightmare Batman” as part of the action figure line, so this news shouldn’t come as all that much of a surprise.

… in Wayne’s dream, the world turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland in the style of Mad Max, in which Superman became a despot and have an army of followers, composed of soldiers and by flying beings that appear in the trailer.

“It’s like a dream that Ben has, so we wanted to, it has almost a Mad Max quality to it where it’s like the end of the world, trying to survive and then of course Superman and his minions come, so it’s sort of a way of representing the amazing amounts of, the sort of obsessive quality that Bruce Wayne has about the threat of Superman.”

Wilkinson also confirms that Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will be featured in other DC films, and that the look of Lex will change.

Wilkinson talked about Lex Luthor, revealing that the visual of the villain will evolve over the other films by DC.

New Batman Vs. Superman Trailer Falls Short In Viewings

While Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War trailer broke all kinds of records, WB’s second Batman Vs. Superman trailer actually sees a decline in viewings.

While it should be noted the Civil War trailer was the first for the movie, both Batman Vs. Superman full trailers together barley come near it.

Civil War netted 61 million views in its first 24 hours, with the latest Batman Vs. Superman trailer only seeing 23 million views, which is 7 million less than the first Dawn of Justice full teaser.

Variety does note this could be a natural decline, as it’s really the fourth teaser for BvS (a scene was released prior to the new trailer), but the Batman Vs. Superman trailer has been met with mixed reactions.

The trailer hasn’t been received all that favorably online – especially seeing how it seemingly reveals so much and fans aren’t happy with the look of whatever Zod becomes – as well as Eisenberg’s depiction of Luthor. It’s just never a good thing when the fan base is split in two, which is what happened with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, and we all know that movie started off strong, but ended with a whimper. Say what you want about Man of Steel, but following its huge opening there was talk of a Man of Steel sequel; however, the movie petered out only bringing in $660 million — and talk of a “Superman 2” was swept under the rug in favor of adding Batman.

My two cents regarding the look of whatever Zod becomes: It looks awful. The special effects are on par with what Singer did with Apocalypse. I certainly hope this isn’t “Doomsday,” as if it is, it takes a lot away from the character. Obviously, this “Doomsday” isn’t going to kill Superman. It’s such a waste of a character. I’m guessing we’ll be hearing shortly from Snyder on the topic who will say something along the lines of, “It’s my version, dude.” I’m hoping he actually comes out and says it’s not Doomsday. Maybe Bizarro? Eh, still looks terrible, guys.

Regarding Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, it’s still a toss up for me. We do know that script was tweaked to accomodate using Jesse Eisenberg, and we can guess the original Goyer script used an older more typical comic book-inspired Lex Luthor. It’s my guess Luthor in the movie will eventually better resemble Lex we know from the comics, which will be represented by Lex losing his hair and going bald.

Dan Slott Still At It: 24Hrs Bashing Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23090:]]

We’re guessing the next issues of Spider-Man and Silver Surfer may be late, with the blaming lying with the Batman Vs. Superman footage released last night during Gotham.

Marvel Comics writer Dan Slott has spent the last 24 hours blasting the footage, Batman Vs. Superman, Zack Snyder, Man of Steel and Superman on Twitter (read Part 1 and Part 2).

Slott isn’t happy with Snyder’s portrayal of the Man of Steel as the writer feels it’s a “dark/grim/joyless Superman.” Slott goes on to defend his opinions stating, “From watching 2 trailers & all of MAN OF STEEL, my opinions are firmly based and far from ‘senseless.'” Slott even argues to ask Cap fans if they are happy with the character’s portrayal in the Marvel movies, and then to go ahead and ask if the Superman fans are happy with the Henry Cavill version. Slott argues Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers was “on point” for Cap, while Man of Steel was “FAR off point” for Superman.

Slott continues with mention if they switched directors he would be “less wary.”

Superman and Man of Steel on Twitter as well as having to defend himself against accusations of being a Marvel shill, which sees DC Comics Batman writer Scott Snyder brought into the conversation.

New Aquaman, Green Lantern Rumors & Justice League Movies Get PG-13 Rating

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23045:]]

We get two bits of information for the upcoming DC slate of movies as Batman producer Charles Roven confirms the Justice League movies will all be rated PG-13, and a batch of rumors for Aquaman, Green Lantern and more surface.

Batman producer Charles Roven confirms all the Justice League movies will be PG-13:

“Right now the movies that we’re making, the movies that have been announced by Warner Bros., I would say those are all intended to be PG-13 movies,”Roven told Collider, but didn’t totally rule out an R-rated movie in the future. “I can’t tell you something may not come out of left field or we might get inspired to develop a different character, but the ones that are in front of us right now through [Justice League 2 are] PG-13.”

Regarding the Aquaman movie rumor, according to JoBlo, the villain of the film will be Ocean Master, Aquaman’s half-brother. It’s also said Mera will be heavily featured in the movie, with it said she will be a force to reckon with. According to the report, a non-white actress is being eyed for Mera to match Jason Momoa as Aquaman.

It’s also said DC is looking to develop more team films as a larger cast can offer a broader diversification of characters. It’s said possible movies being looked at are Birds Of Prey and Teen Titans (which may tie into the Cyborg movie).

The Green Lantern Corps movie is also said described as: “Hal Jordan and John Stewart in a ‘Lethal Weapon in space’ team-up. “

It’s further suggested that DC may go with a gay character at some point to further diversify the line.

Ben Affleck Says Justice League Universe Will Be Massive

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23036:]]

We get some commentary on Batman Vs. Superman and the Justice League movie universe from Ben Affleck as the actor recently spoke to Variety.

First up, Affleck admitted there is a lot of pressure in regards to Batman Vs. Superman.

“I think there is a ton of pressure on it. I mean I would be bulls—ting you to say there isn’t.”

Affleck also commented on WB’s less than stellar performance this year at the box office and thinks there will be a turnaround next year due to the DC movies, stating they will be “massive.”

“You’ll see next year they are going to have a great year. They are now developing … probably the single greatest under-exploited IP asset in the entertainment business, the DC comic world. And now they have started to exploit that and you are going to see that blossom. And, when it does, it’s going to be massive.”

The article also noted that Affleck’s schedule was rearranged to accomodate the Justice League movie and a spinoff film, which is thought to be a new standalone Batman movie.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

Synopsis:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

PRODUCTION BEGINS ON WARNER BROS. PICTURES’ WONDER WOMAN FEATURE FILM

Gal Gadot stars under the direction of Patty Jenkins in the famed DC Amazon Princess’s first time headlining on the big screen

Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures’ Wonder Woman feature film, the highly anticipated action adventure from director Patty Jenkins (“Monster,” AMC’s “The Killing”), starring Gal Gadot (the “Fast & Furious” movies) in the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. The character will make her big screen debut this spring in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but the new film will mark her first time headlining a feature.

The film also stars Chris Pine (the “Star Trek” films) as Captain Steve Trevor, Robin Wright (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” Netflix’s “House of Cards”), Danny Huston (“Clash of the Titans,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”), David Thewlis (the “Harry Potter” films, “The Theory of Everything”), Ewen Bremner (“Exodus: Gods and Kings,” “Snowpiercer”), Saïd Taghmaoui (“American Hustle”), Elena Anaya (“The Skin I Live In”) and Lucy Davis (“Shaun of the Dead”).

The film is being produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder, with Richard Suckle, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Rebecca Roven serving as executive producers.

Joining Jenkins behind the camera are director of photography Matthew Jensen (“Chronicle,” “Fantastic Four,” HBO’s “Game of Thrones”), Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (“Amélie,” “A Very Long Engagement,” “Pan”), and Oscar-winning editor Martin Walsh (“Chicago,” “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” “V for Vendetta”), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (“The Dark Knight” trilogy, “Topsy-Turvy”).

Principal photography will take place on location in the UK, France and Italy. Set to open in 2017, the Wonder Woman feature film is based on characters created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Ezra Miller & Charles Roven Talk Differences With Grant Gustin’s Flash

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22953:]]

Even though the movie and TV universes are separate, Warner Bros. may run into the problem of having two actors play The Flash as the Grant Gustin version is extremely well-liked and popular amongst the fans (something Marvel won’t have a problem with).

Now while on the set of his latest movie, the Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Ezra Miller talks about his version of The Flash with EW.com:

“Well, [first] it’s going to be a movie, I’d like for it to be an exploration of a human being, a multi-dimensional human being, to speak…Wow, I just made such a pun, without meaning to…. I’d like the character to have many dimensions. But really, I’d like him to have the usual dimensions we know and love, and then some extra ones that are part of the amazing consideration of this superhero. I hope to realize him as a person, and I think what’s most exciting for me in superhero mythologies is when we feel the humanity of someone who is heroic — or the heroism of someone who is a flawed, deeply human person.”

Last week also saw Batman producer Charles Roven weigh in on the popularity of The Flash, with Roven confirming there are separate universes. Interestingly enough, Roven states he doesn’t have the answer regarding the popularity of The Flash TV series affecting the movie. Check it out below.

Ezra Miller will be featured as Barry Allen/possibly The Flash next March in Batman Vs. Superman followed by the 2017 Justice League Part 1 film and then the March 3, 2018 Flash standalone movie.

Christian Bale Shoots Down Crazy Batman Vs. Superman Fan Theory

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22930:]]

About three weeks ago saw a crazy fan theory hit the net stating Christian Bale is still playing the Batman, that Ben Affleck is really playing Deathstroke, and that Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is actually the fifth of the Christopher Nolan movies (“v” being the Roman Numeral five).

Now word of the theory has actually made its way to Christian Bale, thanks to Yahoo who caught up with the actor and questioned if his return was even possible.

“I haven’t heard that. This is the first I’ve heard of it,” Bale said. “I think it’s pretty clear that Ben [Affleck] is playing Batman now.”

Well, the theory did state that Ben Affleck was playing Batman – just as Slade Wilson – which happened in the comic books; however, don’t get your hopes up Nolanites as Christian Bale says a definite no his return.

“No, it’s not happening,” Bale said.
