Suicide Squad Is Rated PG-13 & Joker Details (Video)

Batman producer Charles Roven confirms that Suicide Squad will have a PG-13 rating as well as offers details about Jared Leto’s Joker and more.

You can watch Roven talk about Suicide Squad in the above video, with some of the text found below (via Collider).

On Jared Leto’s Joker:

“Look, you know, it was different, it was fun. The group first wasn’t sure because the AD’s had to call him ‘Mr. J’ to get him to come to the set [laughs]. And he did in many ways isolate himself from the rest of the group, but that’s really what his character was, the purpose of his character in many ways, other than when he was with Harley or trying to get Harley. It was very entertaining, it was fuel for a lot of good sport and a lot of laughs, and his isolation bonded the squad, and we wanted the squad bonded.”

David Ayer pitched the idea to do Suicide Squad:

“He had a close relationship with [Warner Bros. executive] Greg Silverman and Greg said, ‘He’s got an idea on Suicide Squad, he wants to come in and pitch it.’ Having a guy like that who’s been able to—all of his films have had a certain level of groundedness to them, really feeling very richly real. And so having that sensibility, which is along the lines of what we were talking about earlier how we like to have things grounded in science or whatever, I was very anxious to hear what his take was gonna be on Suicide Squad and I was very happily surprised, but it was right exactly in the pocket that we were looking for. Honestly that movie was essentially greenlit in the pitch meeting.”

On David Ayer being the writer and director for Suicide Squad:

Surprisingly, one of the things that is a natural benefit of having a writer-director is that when you meet with him, if he’s trying to meet with an actor and explain to them what the role’s gonna be, there’s a lot of confidence that the actor has that the man who’s telling him what’s it’s gonna be is gonna deliver because he’s both the writer and the director. So David was very fresh off the heels of a movie that he could show called Fury, which was a fabulous picture, and he was able to talk about these really—as he says ‘it can be fun to be bad’ and ‘just because they’re bad doesn’t mean they’re evil’, and so he was able to convince all of the actors that we went out to that he was gonna be able to make these characters so compelling that they would wanna be played more than once by these actors.”

On the atmosphere on set:

“I have to say, it was one of the most fun sets ever. I’ve been doing this for a while, and the camaraderie that was built on that set—everybody couldn’t wait for the next day to come back to work.”

Suicide Squad having a PG-13 Rating:

The intention of the film is definitely to be PG-13… We really want to make these films tonally consistent so that, as I said because this is a shared universe, at least our current thinking—and again, we’re not dealing in absolutes because while this is business it’s also a creative endeavor, so you want to leave yourself open to changing your mind, doing something different, being inspired, that’s the whole process of filmmaking is you have to allow for inspiration as well as having a road map for what you’re gonna do. So our plan right now is to make all these films PG-13. In some cases, you know, right there on the edge of PG-13, but still PG-13.”

What will surprise audiences the most?

“There’s a lot of characters in Suicide Squad, and I think you’ll be engaged with them. They all have fabulously different arcs, they’re all very individualistic, and I think that also they’re very, very human in their own dysfunctional ways. And I think that the personal individuals stories and how they relate to each other will be surprising.”

X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer Attached To Star Wars: The Force Awakens

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22891:]]

About a week ago saw Bryan Singer tease that the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer will be released soon, and now it’s learned the trailer will be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

X-Men producer and writer Simon Kinberg confirmed to Collider that the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer will be released in December attached to Star Wars.

“I can in fact confirm that information. Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It’s our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser but it’s certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it.”

It’s also been said the Captain America: Civil War trailer will be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and recently Batman producer Charles Roven hinted a new Batman Vs. Superman trailer may be attached to Star Wars as well.

New Batman Vs. Superman Trailer Coming This Year Says Charles Roven (Video)

We previously heard from Batman producer Charles Roven talking about the direction of the Justice League characters, and now similar to Zack Snyder’s recent statements, Roven confirms new Batman Vs. Superman footage later this year.

Roven also talks about the superhero genre, Batman Vs. Superman being true to its title, visual effects, the length of the movie, Wonder Woman and more.

Here is some of the text (via Collider):

Super hero genre:

I think like any genre, the movies have to be good and you have to keep the audience engaged. One of the things that we’re doing when we’re bringing together the DC Justice League Universe is we’re creating not only stories that work for the individual film but they have some resonance to the other films that we’re doing. And I’m hoping that what’s also gonna keep the interest very keen is we’re telling hopefully compelling stories. I mean, one of the great things about dealing with superheroes in general, at least from our standpoint, is they’re both inspirational and aspirational characters, so you’re hoping that the audience is gonna want to be like some of them but you’re also hoping that the audience can relate to some of them, that if we make their stories compelling and relatable, interesting and emotional, that you’re going to really want to spend more time with them. So you talk about Man of Steel and I felt that Clark’s relationship with both of his fathers was pretty emotional and you can relate, certainly people who lost a loved one can relate, and we all have at some point in our lives lost loved ones. So I think even with Batman v Superman we wanna have characters that touch us, and if we can continue to make films like that, the I think they’re sort of ‘genre proof’”.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22867:]]

Batman vs. Superman title:

You will definitely understand when you see the movie why we call it Batman v Superman… I’m excited to have people see it. I think it’s really a wonderful film. I think Zack [Snyder]’s done an amazing job, all of the actors who are in it, we were so lucky. Just think about the cast that we have, from Ben [Affleck] to Henry Cavill, to Amy [Adams] to Jesse [Eisenberg] to Jeremy [Irons] to Larry [Lawrence] Fishburne. Just amazing, and they all really bring it. Really great. Very happy.”

More Batman vs. Superman footage coming soon:

Honestly, you’re going be seeing something very soon… I don’t know how you define soon but certainly before the end of the year, how about that?”

Length of the movie:

I don’t know if you’ll ever get the 4-hour version, but there may be something that’s coming along that might be slightly less long than that.”

Batman Vs. Superman production and Zack Snyder:

I love the development process, I’m really happy with the pre-production process. I’m not crazy about the production process, because it’s really tense for a producer, particularly when you have a great filmmaker working on it. But the post-production process is so great because you’re shaping something, right? You shot it, and you shoot –if you’re smart- more than you can use because you want the ability to shape it. So part of the process of looking at all these cuts is you start with the longest version of the movie that you could possibly have and then hopefully it’s gonna be painful to bring it down to some sort of size, and you’re learning wonderful things about your characters that you shot. Because even though you have a script which is your blueprint, the actors bring so much and when you have a visual filmmaker like Zack, just what he’s shooting brings so much. So the process is a very rewarding one to go through, seeing your first cut to what is very close to the last cut.”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22868:]]

On the writers, Chris Terrio and David Goyer:

First of all, Chris Terrio is a fantastic writer, you said it earlier, he won the Oscar for Argo. David Goyer is a fantastic writer, and I think that we were very fortunate that even though it wasn’t a collaboration it was a very good blending of the two guys’ talents.”

More on the title:

I don’t think that’s an issue for this film at all. I really don’t… I think that the film is called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so there’s a reason it’s called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and not Dawn of Justice: Batman v Superman. So you’re gonna invest mostly in Batman v Superman and I think that you’ll find other characters in there that you hopefully will want to see more of.”

Difference between the new DC movies and the Christopher Nolan Batman films:

Let’s start with what we’re doing with Man of Steel, because Chris’ Dark Knight trilogy was actually different in the sense that the Dark Knight trilogy had no superheroes in it, none whatsoever. It had a man who made himself both mentally and physically into the best a man could be, and the villains in that were also humans who whether they were aberrated or not were also heightened in terms of their ability to accomplish their goals through their own methods. Very real, very grounded, but of this Earth.

On Man of Steel we also tried to make things feel as real as possible, but we took you to Krypton. We started on Krypton, we gave you Krypton technology and Krypton science and we tried to do it in a way that if there was this planet, what was their culture, what was their language, what were they thinking about, what was their science, what was their technology. And we did try to make that real but we were also taking you into an alien world, and I think we’ve tried to follow that, so make it feel grounded but also otherworldly. So whatever we do with any of these characters we’re gonna want them to be grounded, we’re gonna want the science to feel real whether it’s of this world or not of this world.”

“We tried [to make it all feel real] when we brought it here, when Zod came here, we wanted to make sure that we followed that. We actually talked about what would that technology translate to here. And I think you’ll see in Batman v Superman we stayed true to that, we were attempting to stay true to that, how are things affecting Superman here, Batman is still human, he’s not Meta, he’s just a human, Wonder Woman is Meta, if you will, although some might think that she’s a God.”

Batman Vs. Superman Merchandise References Joker & Robin Costume

Following the earlier Batman promo image, additional Batman Vs. Superman merchandise images have hit the net featuring Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.

We also see what looks to be a Joker car with the packing reading: “Guthams Dark Protector.” Batman’s horns are circled (or it’s a halo), Gotham City Police Department is crossed out,  and “HERO” is written over Batman, with the Bat symbol behind the vehicle.

We see the writing on the Joker packaging is similar to the Robin costume from the Batman Vs. Supreman trailer (pictured above), which seemingly confirms Joker’s involvement one way or another.

Batman Producer Charles Roven Talks Justice League Characters & Plans (Video)

Check out a video interview above with Batman producer Charles Roven talking about the direction of the DC Justice League characters.

Roven talks about the DC “brain trust,” going different routes for their movies and working with other filmmakers.

Here is some of the text (via Collider):

“I think also very much involved in that brain trust is John Berg, who is the executive vice president at Warner Bros. I would say the Snyders, myself, John Berg, and Geoff Johns would be sort of that Brain Trust… I’m working with great people. They’re all really great people. And not that we don’t—there are many times we agree, and there’s many times we don’t agree [and] we work it out.”

“The other thing that I really love about what we’re doing is we’re also bringing in really talented other filmmakers and having them come in and create—I call it the sandbox. We’ve got this sandbox of the Justice League DC characters, and we are hoping to create—this series of movies that we’ve announced are somewhat interlinked. The characters move at a throughline that hopefully will take us all the way to Justice League 2, but they also can interact in the other films as well in some way.”

“So if, for example, The Flash movie or the Aquaman film is gonna come out after Justice League 1, it’s not gonna be a completely different character; that character will have evolved from Justice League 1. Wonder Woman, when we see her in Justice League 1, will have evolved from Batman v Superman. Unless we decide that in one of these stories we’re gonna do something that happened in the past and have it be more of an origination story, in which case you’ll realize how that character became what they were in the movie that they were first introduced.”

“So that’s really challenging and interesting, and you lay out a road map but then when you bring somebody else in they kinda go, ‘Well you’re going to San Francisco by Route 5, what if you took the 101?’ [And you go] ‘Well that’s interesting, maybe we should go Route 101. What if we did?’ And so that changes the whole thing and all of a sudden you realize you can actually get to where you need to get to by a whole different methodology than what you originally planned. Or you might decide to blend the routes. And by doing that it’s very fresh. You’ve got very fresh ideas, very interesting ideas. It’s just really a lot of fun if you’ve got really great collaborative minds working together to try to make things better, more interesting, more fun, more provocative.”

Geoff Johns & Ivan Reis Back On Aquaman

Right in time for Jason Momoa‘s debut as the King Of Atlantis in next March’s Batman Vs. Superman, DC Entertainemnt chief creative officer and DC Comics writer Geoff Johns is returning to Aquaman along with superstar artist Ivan Reis.

Both Johns and Reis launched the New 52 Aquaman comic back in 2011, and now they will be returning for the “Rise of the Seven Seas” storyline that will tie into the Justice League comic as well.

“I can officially say that Ivan Reis, Joe Prado and I have started work on Rise of the 7 Seas! The team is back…” Johns posted on Twitter along with previously released artwork. “We are introducing this mythology piece called the Seven Seas in my last two issues and that’s going to continue into a big Justice League story next year. It warrants Aquaman getting help from the Justice League. It’s too big for him to handle alone, so the seven seas, the seven members of the Justice League — it’s all going to be a nice, big story.”

At long last, see Batman and Superman square off against each other in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’, an epic superhero showdown which will change both their lives forever.

Clark Kent doesn’t trust Gotham’s mysterious masked vigilante. Bruce Wayne doesn’t trust the alien who nearly destroyed Metropolis. And Lex Luthor, who hates Superman more than anyone, is manipulating both of them for his own twisted ends.

Choose your side: the Man of Steel or the Dark Knight? Learn the answer to the age-old question – who would win? – in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’.

Lex Luthor Will Be Righteous & Vengeful In Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22755:]]

We get a look inside the mind of Lex Luthor in Batman Vs. Superman as Jesse Eisenberg recently appeared on The Diane Rehm Show which saw a fan ask and record the answer.

Eisenberg is asked who or what he used to channel Luthor, with Eisenberg revealing some tidbits about what motivates the character including Lex Luthor in Batman Vs. Superman will be vengeful, righteous, emotional and just (at least from Luthor’s perspective).

“I’ve always noticed the best thing to channel, as an actor, is yourself. To figure out what makes you angry, what makes you feel vengeful or righteous. Those are the feelings that Lex Luthor has. And use that as opposed to kind of watching Gene Hackman, who was a great actor obviously and played that part originally, and think, ‘How can I kind of mirror that?’ Because the truth is, me mirroring him would just come off weird. We have different faces, differently life experiences, different emotions, but what I do have – that I have more than anybody – is my own feelings, and so I use those, and then the character seems not only real, but emotional and just. He believes he is the hero of his own story – is the kind of the actor cliche – when you’re playing the villain, you’re the hero of your own story. That’s the kind of most interesting way for me as an actor, and I think, as an audience to appreciate it as well.”

David Goyer Defends Man Of Steel & Talks Christopher Nolan Batman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22675:]]

David Goyer recently appeared on a Nerdist podcast where he talked about creating the Christopher Nolan Batman movies, mentioned how studios want to emulate Disney and Star Wars, and he also defended Man of Steel.

Below you can check out the podcast and text (via indiewire):

Nolan Batman:

“We got lucky in that ‘Batman and Robin’ had not done well. And there had been a lot of who people who had attempted to do Batman films in the interim. Mark Protosevichhad written another one, and there was going to be an R-rated [Darren] Aronofsky one, and Boaz Yakin was going to do ‘Batman Beyond,’ and[Andrew] Kevin Walker did a ‘Batman [and] Superman, there were all these stillborn things that had not happened in the intervening period. So by time Chris and I came along they knew they had to do something radical. And they were kind of desperate. I just remember when I got the job, everyone was saying, both online and amongst my friends, ‘Oh, that’ll never get made.’ “

“We knew that we were coming in from a deficit. There was negative connotation with the character, so we had to get past that, much less it even being a good movie. We were aware that it had to be radically different, but that said, it wasn’t the guiding principle. I don’t think you can create something just as a reaction to something. The guiding principle was, ‘What if we play it straight?’ And then reverse engineer it down to everything, the utility belt, the Batmobile…the previous Batmobiles that had been in the [Tim] Burton films, that was not a practical car. You could barely turn a corner. So we just said, ‘What if it’s real?’ ”

Shared movie universes:

“I think [audiences] are savvy to do the idea that, ‘Oh, this isn’t a film, this is a piece of commerce now, in this ongoing franchise.’ If you go to the studios now, everyone wants story universes because they’ve seen what Marvel or what Lucasfilm has done. Not to say that what Marvel and Lucasfilm have done isn’t amazing, but all the other studios want to do the exact same thing. And so you’ve got, whether they’re successful or not, all these different studios saying, ‘How do we keep up with our own elite universe?’ Now it’s not just enough to say, ‘Oh, I hope this is a three movie franchise,’ it’s ‘Oh, I hope this is a nine movie…’ — it’s a ten year plan.”

“You’ve got all these projects — and I won’t name them — that are going out there that’s like, ‘This is going to be the first in a projected eight movie thing.’ And you’re like, ‘How about starting with just making a good movie?.’ There have been a lot of good sequels, and it’s really hard to do a third film. It’s incredibly hard to do it the third time out, especially if you’re not designing them to be one long story. In the Batman films, we weren’t. When we finished ‘The Dark Knight,’ we didn’t say, ‘We’ve set these seeds to do x, y and z.’ We had no idea what we were going to do. Chris always felt like, each movie has to have its own integrity, and if you have a great idea, use it, and don’t think about a sequel. And if you do that really well, it becomes harder to do a sequel. But at the same time, if you’re trying to do a presumptive trilogy, I think audiences are starting to catch on to this, and be a little weary of it.”

Man of Steel:

“The way I work, the way Chris works, is you do what’s right for the story. That exists entirely separately from what fans should or shouldn’t think of that character. You have to do what’s right for the story. In that instance, this was a Superman who had only been Superman for like, a week. He wasn’t Superman as we think of him in the DC Comics…or even in a world that conceived of Superman existing. He’d only flown for the first time a few days before that. He’d never fought anyone that had super powers before. And so he’s going up against a guy who’s not only super-powered, but has been training since birth to use those super powers, who exists as a superhuman killing machine, who has stated, ‘I will never stop until I destroy all of humanity.’ “

“If you take Superman out of it, what’s the right way to tell that story? I think the right way to tell that story is if you take this powered alien who says, ‘You can have your race back, but you have to kill your adopted race,’ the moral, horrible situation to be in is to actually be forced to kill, not wanting to, the only other person from your race. Take Superman aside, I think that’s the right way to tell that story.”

15 Things Learned About Batman In Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22647:]]

The latest issue of Total Film magazine has a featured article on Batman Vs. Superman

Check out a batch of bullet points about Ben Affleck’s new Dark Knight:

• Ben Affleck’s Batman “is a little more mature” says Batman producer Charles Roven. “He’s been doing it for a long time. Maybe jaded by it and darkened by it. He’s tougher. He’s different.”

Batman has “been around the block” and led a “successful crime-fighting campaign in Gotham City”; has kept the streets clean using “questionable methods.”

• Batman is “still a vigilante,” adds Roven. “And he’s technically still wanted by police.”

• Bruce Wayne will be featured in a Man of Steel flashback scene.

• Batman vs Superman fight is said to be “an epic clash of iconography,” offered Affleck.

• Cavill’s take on the fight: “…a seriously cool spectacle… there’s only so much I can say, but it’s epic. Really, very cool.”

• Zack Snyder on the Batman vs. Superman fight: “The advantage that Batman has is the goodness of Superman; the compliance to fair play that Superman has… Batman knows how to exploit Superman.”

• Batman will use his wits, resourcefulness, “souped up supersuit with armor”; don’t bet against Batman using kryptonite.

• The Bat armor suit was created with CGI; Affleck wore “visual effects pajamas.”

• Afflek piled on 30 pounds of muscle to play Batman in a 14 month time period. Affleck offered: “Rather than doing the shredded, ripped model version of a superhero, I just put on as much muscle as I can, to look like a UFC fighter or an American football player, or something like that.”

• It’s noted Affleck is “dreading” doing it (exercising) all over again for the sequels.

• Batman vs Superman is not an adaptation of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight graphic novel.

• Bruce Waye doesn’t get along with Lex Luthor.

• Batman shares a mutual interest with Wonder Woman and Superman in that they are “looking for a similar thing.”

• Affleck is interested in directing a standalone Batman movie.

Bizarre! Visual Effects Mistake Spotted In Batman Vs. Superman?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22632:]]

We recently learned that the visual effects in Batman Vs. Superman have been completed (and whether or not Doomsday is in the film), but the VFX guys may want to go back and double check their work.

Cosmic Book News recently posted a new Superman image which sees Big Blue battling Batman.

TheHeroHangout Twitter replied to our tweet pointing out what looks to be a mistake with Superman’s cape, which is mostly done with CGI. The normal look of Superman has the cape attached to his neckline, but the image showcasing the Batman Vs. Superman fight has the cape attached to the shield. Bizarre, eh?

Batman Vs. Superman Trailer Should Be Coming Soon Says Zack Snyder

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22613:]]

With the premiere of Batman Vs. Superman only being five months away, a new trailer should be dropping soon. As director Zack Snyder took part in the event for Bob Kane’s Hollywood Star recently, 411 Mania caught up with Snyder to get an update.

Snyder noted, “I think we got to have a trailer soon,” and seeing how he has a friendly rivarly with JJ Abrams, added he is “hoping to” up the ante (the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer saw over 100 million views in its first 24 hours of release).

Snyder also went on to explain that the focus of Batman Vs. Superman is to create the larger DC cinematic universe.

“Listen. I want to — we’re working toward Justice League, and I really want to create the — part of the thing I really want to create is the possibility of a world where they could exist together,” Snyder offered. “I think up to this point, it’s been difficult to suggest a world where Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman and others could exist in the same universe. That was one of the things I really wanted to try and get at. Not to mention, the amazing opportunity to bring those characters and have those characters tell an important story, their own story, within the confines of a film.”

Snyder are talks more about the Batmobile.

“It’s got this crazy gun [on the front part of the vehicle]. It’s super-fast. It’s electrified. It can do all the other Bat-car stuff. But the cool thing I liked about it is that it’s a purpose built Batmobile, right? Which is kind of fun to get back to that.”

Batman Vs. Superman Timeframe Revealed & Prologue Scene

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22603:]]

The latest issue of Total Film Magazine has a featured article on Batman Vs. Superman. Affleck has talked about directing a solo Batman movie; it’s revealed the script was changed to accomodate Jesse EisenbergGal Gadot, Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder have talked about Wonder Woman, and now we learn the timeframe of the movie compared to Man of Steel as well as a related prologue scene.

The magazine article reveals that Batman Vs. Superman takes place 18-24 months following Man of Steel. Cavill and Affleck both talk about the trailer scene which features Bruce Wayne running to save people admist the battle between Superman and Zod – described as being from “Wayne’s-eye-view perspective.”

Cavill offers: “What happens there is one of Bruce’s buildings gets destroyed and he’s trying to save all the people inside the building and he can’t. So he is this angry person who fears what Superman may do. Why are they just going to trust this super-powered alien? What if he does decide to turn against us?”

Ben Affleck adds: “One of the interesting things about Batman is he functions in some ways as an antagonist: you have to remember, this is Batman versus Superman. He’s found himself in a place of harboring a tremendous amount of rage for Superman. So it’s how he got there, and what that’s done to him, and what that’s done to people around him like Alfred, who are, I think, very scared and worried for him. It’s something that’s interesting and new.”

Gal Gadot Talks Wonder Woman: Henry Cavill & Zack Snyder React To Trinity In Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22598:]]

Check out what Gal Gadot had to say about Wonder Woman in Batman Vs. Superman in the latest issue of Total Film Magazine, as well as Heny Cavill, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder talking about when the DC Trinity first came together.

Gal Gadot on Lynda Carter:

I think that the Lynda Carter version was very relevant back in the 70s. Now, Zack Snyder is in collaboration with Patty Jenkins, who’s going to direct [the solo Wonder Woman] movie. All of us want to evolve the character because what you saw back then, you’ve already seen. So we’re going to give it another layer of interpretation and make her a bit more relevant and a bit more up to date.

Gal Gadot on the first time all three were in costume:

It was crazy! You don’t do fittings together. You do them separately. But the first time they shot the trio, it was almost magical. On the one hand, when you think about it realistically, it’s kind of weird to stand there, all three of us as superheroes. And then, when we started to shoot, Ben became Batman, Henry became Superman, and I became Wonder Woman. I can’t even express in words how excited I was.

How it feels to be starting on the Wonder Woman movie, which starts filming in November:

It feels amazing, but for some reason, I feel like it’s not for me. The Wonder Woman is a story that needs to be told. I’m so happy it’s me to tell that story. I think there is no better time than now, and it’s about time we should this amazing heroine on the big screen.

Zack Snyder on Wonder Woman’s story in Batman Vs. Superman:

That I think is an interesting story point. I don’t think it’s time to ruin that yet. But I will say they share a mutual interest. They – all three of them – are in a weird way looking for a similar thing. They’re on the same track.

Zack Snyder on the DC Trinity first coming together:

There was actually a moment in the costume test where there was Batman, Superman, and we were testing the Wonder Woman costume at the same time. They were all standing there. I was like, ‘Oh, my lord, this is crazy.’ It’s crazy enough just to see the two of those guys together. Once you see the trinity…”

Henry Cavill on the first time:

When you stand there, you realize, ‘Oh wow, this is history right here – comic book history.’ And when you see the photo, that’s when you go, ‘OK, cool, right. I get why people were standing there agog during the photoshoot.

Deborah Snyder on seeing Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman for the first time:

The first day that she was in costume and she came out, I literally got teared up. It really didn’t hit me to how historical the moment was, because she’s not been on the big screen ever. She’s 75 years old next year.

Wonder Woman gets released in 2017.

Ben Affleck Open To Directing Solo Batman Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22593:]]

With Ben Affleck starring as the new Dark Knight in Batman Vs. Superman, it’s been rumored the actor has been signed on for three Batman movies which will also see him direct. The latest issue of Total Film Magazine has a featured article in which Affleck and producer Charles Roven comment on the potential of Affleck taking the gig.

“He’s got a busy schedule,” Roven said. “He’s about to start a movie now [Live By Night]. And he’s also got obligations to be in the Justice League movies. The calendar is a little tricky. Of course, the script obviously has to be worthy of him wanting to direct. And once that happens, it’s still got to fit into the calendar. We’re hoping we can make it happen. We’re just at the beginning of the question.”

Affleck offered his take: “Look, if I could make it work, yeah. Obviously, it would be like a dream, The trick is, as to any movie, is to make sure that you – if you’re going to direct it – that you can make it good. You’ve got to have the right idea and the right take on it. Broadly speaking, it’s something I’d be open to, for sure. It’s a very exciting idea.”

David Goyer Has Seen Batman Vs. Superman (Video)

In addition to letting it be known the SyFy Krypton TV series will connect to Man of Steel, David Goyer also offers his reaction to having seen Batman Vs. Superman.

“Yes, I’ve seen it,” Goyer confirmed, who helped write and is an executive producer on Batman Vs. Superman. “I think just a kind of giddiness at being a kid that grew up going to the comic book store every Saturday and reading comic books in which these two epic characters clash… Just the fact that I got to be involved in something like that is crazy. Much less I got to be involved in two cinematic iterations of Batman is also crazy.”

Watch: Zack Snyder Talks Batmobile In Batman Vs. Superman

Yesterday saw Batman co-creator Bob Kane get a Hollywood star with Batman Vs. Superman director Zack Snyder in attendance who brought the new Batmobile. IGN caught up with Snyder to get his take on the new Dark Knight ride.

“The new Batmobile is super fast. It’s purpose-built, which I like,” Snyder said. “We imagine that Batman built it over time with parts from Wayne Industries or something. He’s made it specifically for the job of fighting crime.”

Snyder also offers up the Batmobile may do new things that haven’t been seen before by its predecessors.

“Yeah, I think you will. I’m not gonna give it away, but it does a lot of cool stuff in the movie…”
