DC UNIVERSE ONLINE NOW AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE
Daybreak Game Company has officially released the massively multiplayer online game DC Universe Online (DCUO) on Xbox One. Players can download and experience the title for free directly via the Xbox Games Store. To celebrate the game’s launch, Daybreak Games has created three exclusive items free to download for Xbox One players: the Powered-Up Cape, Powered-Up Emblem and Vapor Aura.
“Xbox One players can finally channel their inner Super Hero – or Super-Villain. Whether they want to run fast like The Flash, fly like Superman or wield ice like Captain Cold, we have more than five years’ worth of content to adventure through in DC Universe Online,” said SJ Muller, DCUO Creative Director. “DCUO is the only MMO set in the DC Comics universe, and its physics-based combat allows players to really feel like they are part of this action-packed Super Hero world.” In DCUO, players create their own Super Heroes or Super-Villains and equip them with their favorite superpowers to protect or cause chaos in the sprawling comic worlds of Metropolis, Gotham City and beyond. Players can also fight as any of the 40 available iconic DC Comics characters in Legends PvP and PvE game modes, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, The Flash, Green Arrow and more.
Beyond its core adventures, DCUO has continually rolled out new and ongoing events, stories and challenges through game updates and more than 20 original Episodes. 2016 has already seen the arrival of new content inspired by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the Warner Bros. television series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, with Water powers and new content focused on Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Darkseid and Gotham Girls still on the way.
Episodes, as well as Legends characters and powers, are available to purchase individually or can be accessed through DCUO Membership. Xbox One users will be able to access all content currently available, and in the future, all game updates and marketplace additions are planned to release simultaneously across all platforms.
DC Universe Online is the first title from Daybreak Games to be published on Xbox One. It will be joined later this year by the official release of H1Z1: King of the Kill on Xbox One (as well as the PlayStation 4 system and Windows PC). DCUO recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, having originally launched in 2011 on Windows PC and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and, later, the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system.
DC Universe Online is licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC Entertainment. For more information, please visit www.DCUniverseOnline.com.

A new trailer for Gears Of War 4 was revealed during tonight’s episode of Fear The Walking Dead with “Tomorrow.”
Watch it above.
Gears of War 4 is due out October 11, 2016 for XBOX One.
25 Years after Gears of War 3, spurred by a series of strange disappearances, JD Fenix must embrace his father’s legacy and battle a terrifying new enemy.
A new saga begins for one of the most acclaimed video game franchises in history. After narrowly escaping an attack on their village, JD Fenix and his friends, Kait and Del, must rescue the ones they love and discover the source of a monstrous new enemy.
Can’t say I’m surprised by this news… More on that later.
The Federal Trade Commission has settled charges with the YouTube channel Machinima, which was accused of posting fake paid for reviews endorsing the XBox One without revealing they had been paid.
Machinima must stop similar “deceptive” video review practices immediately and must reveal when they are getting paid for posting videos.
Two of Machinima’s “influencers” were paid as much as $45,000 between the two for endorsing XBox One in their videos; however, none of these “influencers” revealed they had been paid. It’s also said additional “influencers” were getting paid as much as a dollar per 1,000 views on YouTube. Machinima currently has over 12.6 million subscribers.
“When people see a product touted online, they have a right to know whether they’re looking at an authentic opinion or a paid marketing pitch,” Jessica Rich, Director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection, said in a released statement. “That’s true whether the endorsement appears in a video or any other media.”
The fault looks to be on the side of a marketing agency that works with Microsoft, as Microsoft received no blame for the incidents.
Regarding my thoughts on not being surprised by this news, I’ve experienced this first hand in more than one way. I can recall an incident with an animated movie studio who offered to send advance review copies: We posted a slightly negative review about their latest animated movie, and then never received any review copies. I also know of comic publisher/s paying people to write comic reviews and interviews, and also have long suspected certain sites write positive reviews in exchange for exclusives. Well, here at Cosmic Book News, I can guarantee you are getting an honest opinion — even if it costs us “freebies,” “exclusives,” press material and party invites – as we aren’t spinning anything in favor of anyone (and that’s why we take a hard stance on a variety of topics).

With all the pre-order incentives and various exclusives surrounding Batman: Arkham Knight there has been some confusion as to what is and will be available for gamers.
Now we get an official update from the forums on wbgames.com as a moderator has let it be known that the pre-order retail exclusives will eventually be made available for Premium and Season pass owners.
Throughout the 6 months of additional Batman: Arkham Knight content, Premium and Season Pass owners will also receive the in-game content that is offered through various retail pre-order incentives. This includes the Harley Quinn and Red Hood Story Packs, and the Prototype Batmobile. For those who did not receive the content with their game, these items will become available when their respective exclusivity windows expire in August/September.
The tl;dr version of this is: Premium Edition & Season Pass owners will receive all retail exclusive DLC after their respective early access periods expire.
Another question is answered regarding when the Season Pass will be on XBox One, with the moderator stating:
The Season Pass will likely be purchasable separately on release day or shortly after…
It’s also looking likely that exclusives available for other systems will eventually be made available for possibly all of them as the moderator states the PC exclusive Gotham’s Future Skin pack will likely be available down the line for both PS4 and XBox One users.
Right now you cannot get the Gotham’s Future Skin pack on PS4 or Xbox One, it is a PC exclusive. It will likely be available down the line though for PS4/XO users
Batman: Arkham Knight goes on sale Tuesday and can be ordered through Amazon.

If you woke up on Christmas morning and found Santa placed something XBox or Playstation under the tree, you also found that someone placed coal in your stocking as XBox Live and the Playstation Network were down.
As of today, XBox is back up, but PSN is still down.
The official XBox Live service status reads everything is up and running.
PSN status says it’s still down, and it appears the status page can’t handle all the regular traffic as at times it says there is an error – which isn’t directly related to the DDoS attack – it’s everyone checking to see if the PSN is back up, and ironically, the server can’t handle all the requests.
The good news is that early this morning the official AskPlaystation Twitter feed posted that the PSN is gradually coming back online. I just checked mine, and it’s still down; you may want to check to see if the PSN is up and running for you.
The group claiming to be responsible for the attack is the “Lizard Squad,” who have now moved on from attacking XBox Live and PSN to go after the TOR browser.
What the Lizard Squad did is basically gather a zombie army of computers and directed them all at the PSN and XBox Live. The Squad hacked into other computers, controlled them remotely without the users knowledge, and sent tons of requests aimed at the Playstation Network and XBox Live, which crashed the servers due too much bot traffic. Some of these botnet networks are actually millions of computers strong, and if they are repeatedly hitting the server over and over (in various ways), that’s when the server fails.
So why did the Lizard Squad do it?
Too much time on their hands? Maybe. Need of a girlfriend? Probably (comic book readers get this all the time, too, guys). One member claimed they did it to raise awareness due to the fact that Microsoft and Sony charge too much, and they don’t put anything back into their security. A member claimed that said DDoS attack could have easily been prevented, and the Lizard Squad did give at least a month’s notice. The bad news is that the Squad is stating the attacks won’t stop until Sony and Microsoft both learn from the attack and upgrade their security accordingly.
XBox One recently beat PS4 in sales for the first time ever for the month of November in part due to lowering the price fifty dollars on the console, and now the deals continue as tomorrow will see big savings on both Destiny and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
Microsoft has launched a “12 Days Of Deals” promotion for the Holidays, with Destiny and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare available tomorrow for just $29 at Microsoft online and retail stores.
In addition, the first 50 customers that walk into a Microsoft physical store location will be able to get each title for $19. Other stores will carry the $19 promotion as well, but are limited to only 25 copies.
The deal kicks off at 8am ET online and in various stores.
Attempting to sign on to XBox Live may result in a connection error.
Now it’s learned hackers may be responsible for taking down the XBox Live network, which affects XBox 360 and XBox One.
The Lizard Squad on Twitter are taking responsibility for the attack, who also were said to be behind a similar attack against Sony’s Playstation network earlier this year.
The group has also promised to take XBox Live down again this Christmas.
Microsoft has yet to comment.
Update: It’s said users in Canada and the United States were affected as a result of a denial-of-service attack. The XBox Live servers are now back online (3:04 am ET).
