[[wysiwyg_imageupload:2432:]] With almost 6 months to the new Superman movie and a couple weeks away to the next Man of Steel trailer, we get some more news from Henry Cavill and director Zack Snyder.
In an interview with the NY Post, we learn that Henry Cavill is signed on for three movies with Warner Bros., and that the Man of Steel is expected to launch a new franchise.
Regarding Henry Cavill playing Superman in the Justice League movie, while Zack Snyder says he doesn’t know anything about it, he seems to hint that there might be more to come.
“I don’t know how ‘Justice League’ is going to be handled. Honestly, I don’t,” Snyder told the Post. “But ‘The Man of Steel’ exists, and Superman is in it. I don’t know how you’d move forward without acknowledging that.”
Regarding what Cosmic Book News has been telling you for some time, that the Man of Steel is spearheading a DC shared movie universe — Snyder doesn’t want to spoil it and offers the following.
“Um, how can I answer that?” hes says. “I can’t really say anything to that, because that’s a big spoiler. I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course.”
The Post even goes on to speculate about another member of the Justice League appearing in a post-credit scene, and while Henry Cavill is mum on the subject, offers his thoughts about the pressures on portraying Superman.
“There have been a couple of times where people have been explaining all of these Superman cookies and ice creams . . . and there was a second where I went, ‘Wow, this is massive!’ ” Cavill said. “You’ve got to ignore that and not let it get it to you, otherwise you’ll be focusing so much on the pressure as opposed to dealing with the important thing of doing justice to the character.”
