Superman: Legacy: Pierson Fodé Rumored

A new name is added to the list of potential Man of Steel actors as Pierson Fodé is rumored for the titular role in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy.

The info comes via Variety who says 31-year-old Pierson Fodé sent in an audition tape which included footage showing his “very Clark Kent-like childhood on a farm” in the small town of Moses Lake, Wash.

According to the report, James Gunn liked what he saw but insiders offer no casting decisions still haven’t been made.

Pierson Fodé is known for The Bold and the Beautiful, The Real Bros of Simi Valley, The Man From Toronto, and It’s Time and was actually featured in The CW’s Supergirl for an episode.

Superman: Legacy casting rumors:

Rumors also offer Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet, Jacob Elordi, Tom Brittney and Andrew Richardson have also been named as possible actors to play Superman for Gunn.

Gunn has made it clear he is actually looking for a similar actor as Chris Pratt to play the role of Man of Steel, but said Pratt is too old for the role.

“We actually have some really great choices which I’m excited about,” Gunn said in a recent interview. “But it has to be somebody who has all the humanity that Superman has, but he’s also an alien. It has to be someone who has the kindness and compassion Superman has and it has to be somebody you want to give a hug. All the Supermen have been good, we just have to add to that story.”

Gunn also said his choice for Superman is “a big ol’ galoot.”

“He’s a farmboy from Kansas who’s very idealistic. His greatest weakness is that he’ll never kill anybody,” said Gunn. “He doesn’t want to hurt a living soul. I like that sort of innate goodness about Superman; it’s his defining characteristic. He’s not ‘All-Star Superman,’ but again, I’m a huge fan of ‘All-Star Superman,’ and I’m very inspired by [that series].”

Rumored for Lois Lane includes Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan, Phoebe Dynevor, Samara Weaving, and Cobra Kai’s Mary Mouser.

Up to play Lex Luthor includes possibly Nicholas Hoult and even Bradley Cooper.

The big villain? It’s said to be “confirmed” to be Brainiac.

Gunn did spaz out a little bit on Twitter due to all the alleged leaks.

“I’m getting barraged with bullshit DC rumors this morning. I’ll just reiterate the general rule not to believe anything unless it comes from me or Peter,” tweeted Gunn.

Gunn added, “But, unless it’s especially egregious, I’m going to slow down on calling shit out. (Sorry, I know, it’s one of my favorite traditions). There are three reasons for this: 1) Some people are making up lies to get attention from me or to get clicks & I don’t want to encourage that. 2) I’ve read a hundred rumors this morning. ONE of them is half-true. So I don’t want to be used as a way for people to throw nonsense at the wall until something sticks. 3) I’m storyboarding Superman Legacy and don’t have time! Have a great day!”

Superman: Legacy flies into theaters on July 11, 2025. The flick is described as telling the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
