James Gunn marked Superman Day with a new social media video featuring David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, Jason Momoa, and Milly Alcock, giving DC fans another look at the core cast as the DCU keeps moving forward.
Gunn teased the clip by saying, “We all celebrate Superman Day differently, Krypto’s eating treats, Supergirl is off on an adventure, and Superman is…hanging out with Lex?”
DC Studios co-head Peter Safran recently confirmed Man of Tomorrow is set to start filming this coming week, which keeps the next Superman movie on track for its July 9, 2027 release.

Superman Day doubles as DCU Supergirl promotion
Warner Bros. Discovery released previous details about Superman Day, a global event with fan activations, merch, comics, Krypto content, and the bigger Supergirl push.
Supergirl releases in theaters and IMAX in North America on June 26, 2026, with international rollout beginning June 24, 2026. The film is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. It stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl.
The official plot says Kara Zor-El is forced into an epic interstellar journey of vengeance and justice when a ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, and she ends up joining forces with an unlikely companion. Coverage tied to the film also identifies that companion as Ruthye, a young girl who recruits Supergirl on a revenge mission.
The cast includes Milly Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa. David Corenswet is also reported to appear as Superman.
