Suicide Squad Hits $745 Million At Box Office

Suicide Squad is basically one movie that put its thumb to its nose (or better yet a different finger) regarding the critics as it has now netted over $745 million at the box office.

To date, Suicide Squad has a worldwide gross of $745,200,206, with a U.S. gross of $324,700,206 — giving Suicide Squad the 13th best comic book adaptation domestically, just shy of Batman Vs. Superman and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Suicide Squad has also passed a number of other comic book movies including: Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Batman, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Big Hero 6, X2: X-Men United, Batman Begins, Thor: The Dark World, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Thor, Ant-Man, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Incredible Hulk.

Regarding the critics, Suicide Squad recorded a disastrous 26% “rotten,” which I have to call into question as the “critics” also gave the atrocious Ghostbusters reboot a “fresh” 73% rating, with Ghostbusters easily being the worst movie of 2016. Something is definitely not right there. I’ll admit Suicide Squad wasn’t the best movie, but it definitely didn’t deserve getting beat out by Ghostbusters, which is a laughable thought and one we see audiences agree with as well.

What’s more upsetting than the ratings is that it seemingly recently became known Suicide Squad had a different ending that connected to Justice League. The ending to Suicide Squad and its villain was the worst part of the movie; it’s a shame they didn’t go with what was revealed through concept art.

WB is also releasing a Suicide Squad Extended Cut with new footage.

“Suicide Squad” is directed by David Ayer starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Scott Eastwood in an unknown role.

Synopsis:

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Supervillains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
