Stellan Skarsgard confirmed in both Thor and The Avengers (Spoilers)

We knew that actor Stellan Skarsgard was going to appear in the Thor movie as Dr. Selvig, now word comes that Skarsgard will also appear in The Avengers.

Skarsgard told Sweden’s second largest newspaper that he will play the same role in The Avengers as he plays in Thor.

‘”The Avengers” is the dream team of superheroes, a group consisting of among others Iron Man, the Hulk, Captain America and Thor. The film is planned to premier in 3D in May of next year. Stellan Skarsgård confirms to TT Spektra that he will play the same role as in the upcoming “Thor”: Doctor Selvig. Not much is yet known about the character apart from that Selvig is a scientist in New Mexico.’

These come from a script for Thor that was leaked online.

Selvig is a scientist, Jane Foster’s (Natalie Portman) colleague, and as they watch anomalies in the sky and head for cover, they literally run into Thor (as shown in the trailer).

Not too hard to see where this goes in relation to The Avengers. Seeing how Thor joins the Avengers and as Tony Stark and Nick Fury of SHIELD all are either mentioned or play a part in Thor, with Selvig being a scientist — well, you get the picture.

Guess, we’ll have to wait and see.
