It’s said that Lucasfilm is prepping the release of the new Star Wars series, The Acolyte, which is supposed to be headed to the Disney+ streaming service.
The info comes via Twitter user Cryptic HD QUALITY who also shoots down rumors about the episodes’ length.
“A trailer for The Acolyte is being prepared. When it arrives is unknown to me,” the account tweeted. “Also, I wanna shut down the rumor of the episodes being approximately 1 hour long. It fluctuates a lot.”
Obviously, this should be considered a rumor as Disney and Lucasfilm haven’t announced or teased anything as of yet; however, Disney did release a trailer at Star Wars Celebration London last year.
What did The Acolyte trailer show?
Following Star Wars Celebration London, The Acolyte trailer leaked online months later.
The footage shows Lee Jung-jae’s character imparting wisdom to students at the Jedi Temple, emphasizing, “The Force is powerful… it is a power we must respect.”
The scene transitions to an intense Force battle between Carrie-Anne Moss and Amandla Stenberg (whose character identities remain under wraps) within a cantina-like setting.
The footage also showcases the characters played by Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, and Rebecca Henderson displaying their skills in action and more.
Towards the end of the trailer, multiple Jedi ignite their lightsabers simultaneously.
Jodie Turner Smith’s character says, “This isn’t about good or bad, it’s about power and who’s allowed to use it.”
Rumors also offer The Acolyte revolves around Amandla Stenberg’s lead character as a fallen Jedi who joins the Dark Side only to be betrayed by her Master, so the character then goes out to totally destroy The Force to make both the Jedi and the Dark Side pay.

Lucasfilm officially describes the series as a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.
The description continues, “The High Republic saw the Jedi Order at its prime, centuries prior to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.”
From creator, showrunner, and executive producer Leslye Headland (Russian Doll). The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing. Headland will also direct the series pilot.
