Following Star Wars: The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams returns for Star Wars: Episode IX.
While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, J.J. Abrams offers an update.
“We have the script, which is a big deal for me,” Abrams said. “It starts shooting the end of July.”
Abrams also lets it be known that “having the script in advance is not something I’ve not been lucky enough to have.”
“I’m writing this with Chris Terrio who is a genius,” Abrams said. “I’m having a great time.”
Stephen Colbert also told a story how a couple weeks prior to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams called him up and asked if he could come to his office for a drink, which saw the two of them share some Jameson as Abrams was a bit nervous. Watch more below.
Star Wars: Episode IX has a December 20, 2019 release.
