Spider-Man Spinoff Black Cat and Silver Sable In Development

Spider-Man Spinoff Black Cat and Silver Sable In Development

Sony continues moving forward with their Spider-Man movie universe as following the news of the Venom film, now a movie focusing on the female characters is in development, which includes Black Cat and Silver Sable.

THR reports the Black Cat and Silver Sable movie is being written by Chris Yost, who worked on Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok and is known for the Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes animated TV series and for being a comic book writer.

It’s said Chris Yost is writing the new script, which is in part based on a previous version written by Lisa Joy, the co-creator of HBO’s Westworld.

It’s reported Sony wants to hire a director soon and start filming the Black Cat and Silver Sable movie in the Fall.

Similar to Venom, this won’t be from Marvel Studios, who is behind Spider-Man: Homecoming, as it has Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal on board as producers.

The article further notes Venom, Black Cat and Silver Sable and any other spinoffs are not offshoots from Spider-Man: Homecoming, but “rather projects spun from the overall franchise and based on Marvel’s Spider-Man universe.”

It’s even remains to be seen whether or not the spinoffs will even feature Spider-Man or Tom Holland.
