Spider-Man 4: Sam Raimi Shoots Down Rumors, No News

As of late, there have been a lot of Spider-Man 4 rumors not only about another MCU movie starring Tom Holland but also a continuation of the Sam Raimi films starring Tobey Maguire.

However, Raimi and the Hollywood trades shoot down rumors on both sides.

There are claims that Sam Raimi is directing Spider-Man 4 (and Secret Wars), and there are claims the fourth Spider-Man movie in the MCU might be a street-level movie with or without Daredevil, that it might be a Multiverse movie, and that the head of Sony and Kevin Feige are butting heads.

However, at least for now, it’s all rumor.

MCU Spider-Man 4

While reporting on “The Fight To Save Euphoria” in an in article about the HBO show and Zendaya, Variety basically said there is no news about the MCU’s own Spider-Man 4.

The site only offers thing we all already knew in that: “though the script for that film is still being worked on, and there’s no director or start date.”

Both the head of Sony and Kevin Feige have confirmed for a while that Spider-Man 4 is in development but there are no specific details known.

Regarding continuing the Tobey Maguire movies, at WonderCon, CBR spoke with Sam Raimi who said he hasn’t heard anything about his own Spider-Man 4.

“Well, I haven’t heard about that yet,” Raimi said. “I did read that, but I’m not actually working on it yet. I mean, Marvel and Columbia are so successful with current Spider-Man [movies], and the track there, and I don’t know that they’re going to go back to me, and say, ‘Well, folks, we can also tell that story!’”

He continued, “I’m not sure, but I love all the new Spider-Man movies. I loved Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was really, super powerful seeing Tobey [Maguire] again in it.”

Raimi also admits he hasn’t talked to Tobey Maguire.

“I haven’t talked to Tobey about it, but maybe Marvel has, or Columbia Pictures,” Raimi added. “But, I just worked with Marvel on a movie called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So, I’m on great terms with them. I’m sure I would hear about it if it was in the works. I think so. I don’t know.”
