South Park Season 29 officially has a premiere date, with Trey Parker and Matt Stone announcing the news on Jimmy Kimmel along with the release of an announcement teaser.
Comedy Central and Paramount+ announced Tuesday that the new season will premiere Wednesday, September 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.
New episodes will stream the next day on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, and Australia, with Paramount+ also streaming the episodes around the world.
South Park Season 29 Release Date
South Park Season 29 premieres Wednesday, September 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.
The new season will then continue with additional episodes every other Wednesday.
The announced schedule includes:
- September 16
- September 30
- October 14
- October 28
- November 11
- November 25
That gives Season 29 a six-episode rollout, continuing South Park’s recent event-style release schedule.
Trey Parker And Matt Stone Announce The News
The announcement was made by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel.
An announcement teaser has also been released, giving fans their first official heads-up that Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny are returning this fall.
Parker and Stone continue to serve as executive producers on the long-running animated series. Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II also executive produce.
South Park Nears Its 30th Anniversary
The new season arrives as South Park gets closer to a major milestone.
The franchise will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027. The show first debuted on Comedy Central on August 13, 1997, after Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny were introduced in the animated short The Spirit of Christmas.
Three decades later, South Park remains one of the biggest animated shows on television.
According to the announcement, South Park was the No. 1 show on cable in 2025 among adults 18-49. The return of Season 27 also delivered the show’s best average adults 18-49 share in 27 years and its most-watched season in six years.
South Park Awards And Recognition
South Park has won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program five times and has received 20 nominations.
The series was also included in the 2026 Television Academy Honors as the first animated honoree. It was also the first animated show included by the Producers Guild Awards in the Best Episodic Comedy category.
The show has also received recognition from the American Film Institute, the Peabody Awards, and the Critics Choice Association.
