A first look at Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury hits the net from Captain Marvel set images!

Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury as they are set to do battle against the Skrulls.

The pics reveal Nick Fury side-by-side Brie Larson as Carol Danvers Captain Marvel in the green suit who seemingly shields Fury from some kind of assault.

The movie is set in the 1990s, which explains why Nick Fury has yet to sport an eye patch.

Based on the Marvel comic character first appearing in 1968, the story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Ā Set in the 1990s, Captain MarvelĀ is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Set for release in the United States on March 8, 2019, Marvel Studios’ Captain MarvelĀ is directed by the writing/directing team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. An all-star collective of accomplished writers penned the screenplay, including Meg LeFauve, Ā Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch, and Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck.

The film stars Academy AwardĀ winner Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, with Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

Kevin Feige is the producer of Marvel Studios’ Captain MarvelĀ Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patty Whitcher and Stan Lee are executive producers, with Lars Winther serving as co-producer/first assistant director and David Grant serving as co-producer.

Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s creative team includes director of photography Ben Davis, Oscar- nominated production designer Andy Nicholson, costume designer Sanja Hays, editors Elliot Graham and Debbie Berman, two-time Oscar nominee, visual effects supervisor Christopher Townsend, stunt coordinator Jim Churchman and six-time Oscar nominee, special effects supervisor Dan Sudick.
