What is Y2K about?
The official description offers: On the last night of 1999, two high school juniors crash a New Years Eve party, only to find themselves fighting for their lives in this dial-up disaster comedy.
The trailer opens with Eli (Jaeden Martell) having a conversation with his mother, Robin (Alicia Silverstone). She playfully asks if any “lucky lady” is going to get his “midnight kiss” as the new year approaches. Eli’s attention is set on Laura (Rachel Zegler), who he encounters at a convenience store. Laura nonchalantly mentions she’s heading to a New Year’s Eve party that promises to be “a total shit show.”
As the night unfolds, the party quickly lives up to its reputation. Eli and his friend Danny (Julian Dennison) get drunk as they navigate the high school social scene, only for Eli to see Laura kissing another guy. This disappointment is just the beginning, as the trailer quickly shifts into chaos with the onset of the Y2K “global computer apocalypse.”

Y2K gets released on December 6 from writer/director Kyle Mooney, with the script by Evan Winter. The film also stars Alicia Silverstone.
