Paramount+ has officially renewed Landman for a second season following a massive showing in Q4. The series, led by Billy Bob Thornton, became one of the top 10 SVOD original shows across all platforms—alongside fellow Paramount+ hits Tulsa King and Lioness. It’s only the second time since Nielsen started tracking streaming in 2017 that a service other than Netflix placed three series in the top 10.

Sheridan and Company Deliver Again
Landman comes from Taylor Sheridan, co-creator Christian Wallace, and is based on the Boomtown podcast by Texas Monthly and Imperative Entertainment. The show explores the oil boom in West Texas, framed by themes of working-class grit, energy politics, and corporate power.
The series is produced by Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. It’s part of a growing list of Sheridan-led projects that have pushed Paramount+ to the #2 spot in Original Hours Watched for Q4 in the U.S., according to the streamer.
