Paramount+ has announced that production is now underway on the fifth and final season of Mayor of Kingstown.
The series is filming in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with Jeremy Renner returning as Mike McLusky and Edie Falco also back.
Paramount also confirmed that David Morse has joined the cast as a series regular for the final season.
David Morse joins final season
David Morse will play Russell Hardy, a seasoned FBI agent sent to Kingstown.
According to the official description, Hardy arrives in the wake of Tracy’s murder and after Mike and Kyle took revenge on Callahan. He is searching for the fugitive Callahan, but his presence threatens to expose Mike’s secrets and shake up the fragile power structure inside Kingstown.
That sets up the final season as another clash between law enforcement, crime, and the personal deals holding everything together.
Final season cast includes returning favorites
Along with Jeremy Renner, Edie Falco, and David Morse, the eight-episode fifth season stars Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, and Derek Webster.
Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James are also returning.
Mayor of Kingstown was co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon. Dave Erickson serves as showrunner on the series.

Paramount also confirmed that seasons 1 through 4 of Mayor of Kingstown are currently available to stream on Paramount+.
The series has been one of the bigger titles in the Taylor Sheridan lineup, and now fans know the next batch of episodes will also be the end of the road.
David Morse recent credits
Morse recently appeared in We Were Liars, both seasons of The Last Thing He Told Me, and the feature film Looking Through Water.
He is also set to appear in the upcoming films Mayday and Saturn Return. His past credits include House, John Adams, The Morning Show, True Detective, The Green Mile, The Hurt Locker, World War Z, and Concussion.
