Deadpool will not be appearing in the upcoming third Wolverine movie, Logan.
After a website posted an erroneous news story claiming to be fact, Logan director James Mangold and Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds have taken to Twitter to state it's completely false and without merit.
The claims of Deadpool appearing in Logan originated at The Wrap, which has really seen it's quality of news reporting drop in recent weeks due to click-bait articles filled with rumors and fake news stories.
James Mangold took to Twitter to slam The Wrap for their unprofessional work ethic using the hashtag "#fakenews."
"Maybe The Wrap is the show biz Breitbart. #fakenews," Mangold tweeted.
"'The Wrap has not reported Deadpool & Logan would appear side-by-side.' Cause Deadpool ain't in the film, pal. Keep backtracking. #fakenews," Mangold tweeted.
James Mangold also responded "spot on" to a fan's comment that: "I would be pissed too if I put my heart and soul to something, and someone tries to make false claims of your project."
Ryan Reynolds also tweeted out: "Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission."
Update: Hugh Jackman tweeted out: "What they said."
Regarding the rumor, I think it's safe to say having Deadpool in Logan would simply not fit with the movie judging by the Logan trailer alone. The wise-cracking Deadpool, IMO, wouldn't fit with the tone of Logan and would be absolutely out of place and look like nonsense.
