A couple of days ago saw producer Lauren Shuler Donner release the first cast photo for the new X-Men TV series in which she called it “Gifted.”

Now, however, apparently “Gifted” is only the working title, and it’s also reported The Originals Joseph Morgan has not been cast in the X-Men TV series.

According to EW.com, multiple sources have filled them in that “Gifted” is not the official title of the X-Men TV series, but presently only being used as the working title. “Gifted” is a nod to Professor X’s School For Gifted Youngsters and also Joss Whedon’s first arc on the Astonishing X-Men comic book.

Regarding Joseph Morgan, EW says Morgan has not been cast for the X-Men TV series, but was just filling in for the read-through (which seems sort of odd as Morgan has his own name-card with the character listed).

Natalie Alyn Lind also posted additional cast photos, which includes Bryan Singer who is directing the pilot episode (see below).

The X-Men TV series focusus on two ordinary parents (Stephen Moyer as Reed Stewart, the father; Amy Acker as his wife, Kate Stewart) who discover their children (Natalie Alyn Lind as their daughter, Lauren Stewart) possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

The X-Men TV series also stars Blair Redford as Sam, the leader of a group of mutants in hiding; Jamie Chung as Blink; Emma Dumont as Lorna Dane/Polaris; Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz/Eclipse (an original mutant), and Coby Bell as Jace Turner.

The FOX Studios X-Men TV series is being overseen by Matt Mix who wrote the pilot and will serve as executive producer along with Donner, X-Men movie writer/producer Simon Kinberg, Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb, Jim Chory and X-Men movie director Bryan Singer, who is also directing the pilot episode of the X-Men TV series.

Watch out. X-men are coming for you Dallas. #mutantsquad (missing the our badass muties @jamiejchung & @seanjamesteale )
