New Mutants Still Getting Released Says Fox

new-mutants-release-fox

Last Summer saw a rumor hit from a “Fox leaker” that both X-Men: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants are going to be canceled.

The leaker then changed his tune offering that only New Mutants would be canceled and that it would be shelved by Disney, as the movie’s release date comes after the Disney-Fox deal goes through. The leaker claims that Disney wants to move forward on their new X-Men property ASAP and doesn’t want to be bogged down by Fox’s X-Men films.

While it is unknown if the rumor will hold true, the leaker did seem to call the fact that there will be no more Deadpool standalone films, as the leaker claims Deadpool 3 will be titled “Deadpool 3: X-Force.” Ryan Reynolds did recently let it be known there will be no more standalone Deadpool flicks.

Regarding New Mutants, Fox Studios recently released their official “Twentieth Century Fox Films 2019 Slate,” which does have the movie listed, but the official press info does note: “*at this time, subject to updates.”

But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn¹t, her world begins to crumble and shocking secrets are laid bare. Adapted from the beloved literary classic, THE CALL OF THE WILD vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Alaskan Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest rookie on a mail delivery dog sled team–and later its leader–Buck experiences the adventure of a lifetime, ultimately finding his true place in the world and becoming his own master.

The film stars Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens, Omar Sy, Karen Gillan, Bradley Whitford and Colin Woodell. Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon) directs from a screenplay by Michael Green (Murder on the Orient Express).
