Mortal Kombat 2: Ed Boon Shows Off Kitana

Thanks to Ed Boon, we get a cool look at Kitana in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 movie that gets released on October.

Boon says via X that he recently saw an unfinished cut of the flick and grabbed the following image from producer Todd Garner.

“I recently saw a (unfinished cut) screening of the Mortal Kombat 2 movie. During the screening I broke into @Todd_Garner ‘s phone, found this image from the film, and send it to my phone,” tweeted Boon. “I can leak stuff too.”

And while there hasn’t been any official news about the movie, leaks about Mortal Kombat 2 suggest that the film will feature Shao Khan, the emperor of Outworld, killing King Jerrod, taking his throne, and turning his queen into an undead servant. The story follows their daughter, Kitana, who is scarred for life after the death of her parents and seeks revenge.

A recent test screening report offers the flick has lots of deaths and gore.

The film also stars Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, with Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Martyn Ford as Shao Khan, Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Josh Lawson as Kano, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, with Desmond Chiam as King Jerrod, Ana Thu Nguyen as Sindel, CJ. Bloomfield as Baraka, and Max Huang as Kung Loa.

Mortal Kombat 2 will be released in theaters on Oct. 24, 2025.
