The Odyssey Trailer Leaks Online — Penelope, Telemachus, And New Monsters

A third trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has made its way online.

The new teaser has reportedly been playing in theaters ahead of Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, and a solid-quality version has since leaked across social media ahead of any official release from Universal.

An official version is expected to drop soon, but the leak does give fans their clearest look yet at the Ithaca side of Homer’s story, along with several of the mythological horrors waiting for Odysseus at sea.

The Odyssey Trailer Shifts Focus To Ithaca

Where earlier footage leaned on Odysseus’ voyage, this trailer reportedly centers on the home he left behind.

Much of it focuses on his wife Penelope, played by Anne Hathaway, and their son Telemachus, played by Tom Holland, holding things together in Ithaca during the king’s long absence.

The tension comes from Robert Pattinson’s Antinous, described as a sleazy suitor pressuring Penelope to give up on her husband’s return and marry him instead, pulling one of the poem’s central threads, the siege of suitors back home, into focus for the first time.

Beyond Penelope’s Ithaca, the cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o plays both Helen of Troy and her sister Clytemnestra in Nolan’s adaptation.

The leak also reportedly delivers more of the perils Odysseus (Matt Damon) and his crew face on the way home.

While Polyphemus the Cyclops apparently doesn’t appear in this cut, several other creatures from Homer’s epic do.

Among them are the Laestrygonians, a race of cannibalistic giants, and Charybdis, the monstrous living whirlpool.

There are also glimpses of ships under attack at sea, strongly suggesting an appearance from Scylla, the six-headed beast that traditionally lurks across the strait from Charybdis in the original myth.

Hype Continues To Build For The Odyssey

The trailer leak lands in the middle of a frenzy that’s already turned The Odyssey into one of 2026’s biggest events well before release.

Demand for premium 70mm screenings crashed AMC’s ticketing system, the chain later confirmed record-breaking first-day sales, and resale tickets have since surfaced on eBay for thousands of dollars.
