Transformers: Dark of the Moon will be Michael Bay’s last Transformers movie as the director told MTV, “It does have an end, yes,” he said. “Because I am finished doing this.”

Bay also spoke about the 2009 Revenge of the Fallen which didn’t sit well with fans. In the past, Bay has been vocal about it and blames the writers strike, “The second one, we had a tough go,” Bay told [MTV]. “It was a very, very tough thing to make a movie under those circumstances. It affected a lot of Hollywood at that time.”

Regarding the third one, Dark of the Moon, Bay said the following:

“I think it takes awhile to get it right,” he explained to MTV News on Wednesday night at the red-carpet premiere of “I Am Number Four,” which he produced. “I think we did not want the third one to suck.”

Bay goes on to state that Dark of the Moon will be epic and that it takes place more in a city, not in the desert and it’s highly accessible. The director compares it more to Black Hawk Down.

If the trailer from the Superbowl is any indication as to what we are getting – Bay is correct in that the third one won’t “suck.”

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon hits theaters July 1st, 2011 directed by Michael Bay and starring Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Julie White, Kevin Dunn, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Alan Tudyk and John Malkovich.
