GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

The same website that came out with the recent news about Marvel Studios seeking a director for the Doctor Strange movie, now says Marvel is moving ahead with a Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

This news comes via TwitchFilm who says sources have told them the Guardians Of The Galaxy movie is in active development.

This isn’t the first time we have heard about a GoTG movie, as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has mentioned it (and in the same breath as Doctor Strange).

Update: Marvel Studios VP of Production Tom Cohen recently mentioned the Guardians as well as Nova.

Up until not too long ago in the Marvel comic book universe, there were two different version of the Guardians. The original (1969) were from the 31st century that was taken over by the alien race known as the Badoon. They traveled back in time and teamed with The Avengers and Captain America.

The present day Guardians of the Galaxy (2008) consisted of a rag-tag group of heroes (with some ties to the original), with a majority recently meeting their demise – not to mention the book being canceled or put on “hiatus.”

Interesting enough, Marvel has plans to reboot the Guardians sometime soon, with some fans even speculating around the time of The Avengers movie. It’s not a stretch to think Marvel Comics would want a Guardians of the Galaxy comic to coordinate with the movie(s) release.

Regarding The Avengers, it is said an alien race comes into play – the Badoon?
