Last night saw the Season 3 premiere for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and now unfortunately it is learned a fan-favorite actor will be exiting the series.
According to Deadline, Victor Garber, who plays Martin Stein and one half of Firestorm, is leaving the series this year.
Victor Garber is leaving DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for a return to Broadway, teaming with Bernadette Peters to headline the Tony-winning revival of Hello, Dolly!, taking over from David Hyde Pierce and Bette Midler. Their first show is on January 20.
According to the report, The CW has made a carefully planned exit for Victor Garber on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Victor Garber has been with the series since the start and first appeared on episodes of The Flash.
No specific details are known about what The CW will do, but Robbie Amell who also played one half of Firestorm departed the character, so it’s possible The CW could do something similar with a new actor and character.
Another possibility is to keep using the Victor Garber character, but maybe as time travel is involved, a younger version could be used, which would still enable Victor Garber to return some time down the line.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesdays at 9pm ET following The Flash.
