Is Kraven The Hunter The Next Deadpool & Wolverine? New Trailer Unleashed

The next R-rated Marvel comic book movie to follow the massive success of the MCU’s Deadpool & Wolverine happens to be Sony’s Kraven The Hunter coming out in December.

Sony has released a new trailer and poster. Watch below.

The film stars Aaron Taylor Johnson as the titular character who is known for being a Spider-Man villain in the comics. However, the film will be without Spider-Man, as Kraven takes on more of an anti-hero role, similar to Sony’s Venom.

Sony’s Spidey spinoff universe has been struggling as of late. Madame Web bombed big time at the box office and is considered one of the worst superhero movies in existence.

“Gonna surprise the hell out of a lot of people”

Sony recently acquired Kraven the Hunter director J.C. Candor’s next project. Candor filled in Deadline he is super excited about Kraven.

“I’m extremely proud of the work we have all done together on Kraven, and when the movie finally gets its chance to be seen I think it’s gonna surprise the hell out of a lot of people,” he said. “As for what’s next for me, as always that’s up to the moviemaking gods.”

Deadline also adds that Sony execs are hopeful Kraven will turn out more like the Tom Hardy Venom movies than the recent misfire of Madame Web.

“After enduring a misfire with Madame Web, SPE brass is optimistic that Kraven will be more in line with the Venom films,” states the report.

“Villains aren’t born. They’re made,” states the poster. Kraven the Hunter gets released on Dec. 13. Sony also has Venom: The Last Dance coming out on Oct. 25.
