Marvel has big plans for the Fantastic Four as Kevin Feige confirms the characters will be a big part of the next Avengers movies, which includes the return of Robert Downey Jr. in Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars.
It’s also already been rumored that Downey’s Doctor Doom might actually be from the same Earth and universe as the Fantastic Four, which includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
What did Kevin Feige say about the Fantastic Four in the Avengers movies?
While appearing in a video message at Disney’s APAC Content Showcase in Singapore, in addition to confirming big plans for the X-Men, Kevin Feige confirmed the Fantastic Four for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
“Finally, [we’re] bringing Marvel’s First Family to the MCU,” Feige said of the new movie The Fantastic Four: First Steps (via Deadline).
Feige continued, “They wrap next week, the movie comes out next summer, and then all those characters go right into the next Avengers movies, so I’m very excited for the future of The Fantastic Four,” Feige added.
Fantastic Four is due out July 25, 2025; Avengers: Doomsday hits May 1, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars explodes on May 7, 2027.
Here is the new synopsis teasing the different universe the film is set in:
Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.
Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
The action adventure also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles. Directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis, Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” opens in theaters July 25, 2025.
