A new rumor has hit the net in regards to the DCEU Green Lantern costume–possibly for the upcoming Justice League movie, Flashpoint or the Green Lantern Corps film.
Rumored details have hit Reddit from a said-to-be Junior compositor at one of the companies that works on VFX for the WB movies.
According to the Redditor, the costume they worked on is described as follows:
I work as a Junior compositor in one of the companies that works on VFX for all WB movies, This company has worked on all DCEU movies since MOS to JL and also works on conceptual arts for future projects too. I joined this year in march and got to work in JL on lot of shots and we have wrapped all out work on JL at end of August. 2 weeks ago we got a new project of making different concept arts (2D) for Green Lantern and we submitted around 5 different designs which we thought might work, we got our reports back . As of right now the head of art and costume department have choose 1 design and modified it a lil bit but now we finally got to convert this from 2d art to an actual Costume and put VFX over it, We finished this today. This might change in the future since these stuff keeps getting modified till production starts which is very late but i personally think they started this so fast cause This GL might appear in flashpoint. Also i didn’t get to work on any shot in JL which had any GL in it so i have no clue about any GL costume or GL in JL.
So anyway here are the details firstly we got actual guy in an actual full black suit , The guy looks a lot like Hal Jordan but i have no clue who he is , definitely not a known actor or someone who was rumored, i have never seen him in any movie or anywhere in the internet. The suit is from boots to neck full black, has lots of muscles defined and and those muscle plates were like armor type hard plates and not inside soft plates type like batman or superman’s costume has, Its kind of like the flash costume but not so many separate pieces, like the shoulders have 1 piece each, the chests have one whole piece each and then the pecs etc etc. the upper part of the center chest has a molded GL logo . This is the physical suit the guy was in. Now our final design was lot of vfx over this. Lot of projection floating above the suit, Lights glowing, nerves type streaks of light underneath the suit kind of blending in together. The whole rays and lights and projection everything originates from the center of his chest where the GL logo is , its like the center of energy type and it flows from there to all over the suit. One prominent streak of light goes till his right arm and till his ring finger. and the GL logo is like a solid 80% transparent projection floating above the chest’s molded logo and is slightly bigger than the one in chest and the rest of the armor plates also floats a bit above his suit but is a lot more transparent to give the logo more focus. The mask is also a physical solid thing but has a layer of projection above . Overall there are lot of layers to the suit and it looks really beautiful , like something out of the world. Also when the suit flies in space these armor projections wraps around him completely like transformers transforming(a bit different through, kind of like a combination of those pin geo fluids from mos and transformers ) and it forms a whole transparent armor suit around him. The objects he creates also forms in a similar way his armor suit is formed.
Additional details revealed by the Redditor include that the Green Lantern costume has no white gloves and that it’s similar in style to the Green Lantern from the DC Legends mobile game. The Redditor drew the following image of the Green Lantern costume:
