Zack Snyder is marking the anniversary of the day his version of Justice League became real.

Snyder posted a message on Instagram looking back at May 20, 2020, when it was announced that Zack Snyder’s Justice League would be completed and released as originally intended.

“On this day in 2020, we announced that we would be completing Justice League as it was originally intended,” Snyder wrote. “Special thanks to Henry Cavill, who joined me for the announcement, and to the fans who made it possible. For Autumn.”

The post immediately drew reactions from fans who are still calling for the SnyderVerse to continue.

Snyder’s post points back to one of the biggest fan-driven moments in modern superhero movie history.

After years of campaigning under the “Release the Snyder Cut” movement, Warner Bros. finally announced that Snyder would get to finish his version of Justice League.

Henry Cavill joined Snyder for the original announcement, which helped make the moment even bigger for fans who had pushed for the movie’s release.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League eventually premiered in 2021 as a four-hour version of the film, restoring Snyder’s story, tone, and character arcs after the 2017 theatrical cut was heavily changed.

Snyder’s latest message again gives credit to the fans, writing that they made it possible.

Snyder added in the poster: “What was broken was made whole again. A silence became a voice. A wrong was made right. On this anniversary, we remember: The vision restored, the balance returned. And always, in the end, it was the fans who made it possible.”
