It does make sense that WB would release a Justice League extended cut of Joss Whedon’s version simply due to the footage being complete. It’s been reported a lot of Zack Snyder’s Justice League footage is incomplete, which would cost a hefty sum to finish, and WB more than likely isn’t going to cough it up any time soon.
According to a Twitter user, WB is considering releasing an extended Joss Whedon Justice League cut along with Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman, repackaging the three movies as a trilogy.
For the home release of #JusticeLeague, WB is mulling over packaging it as a #Superman Trilogy, alongside MOS and BvS. And here’s the kicker:
It would include an Extended Cut of JL.
BUT!
It’d be an extended version of the theatrical cut. Not Snyder’s cut.

While I was previously all about an extended Joss Whedon Justice League cut, with the recent news that Zack Snyder did film Henry Cavill in the black Superman suit (which probably explains why so many scenes featuring Henry Cavill were reshot), I definitely want to see what Snyder originally intended for the film.
Why not release both?
