Josh Brolin Open To More DC, Confirms Green Lantern Talks

Josh Brolin confirms those talks of him playing Green Lantern Hal Jordan in the DCU Lanterns series are legit. It also sounds like the actor more known for playing Marvel characters is still open to playing a DC role.

Speaking with CB.com, Brolin also had good things to say about actor Kyle Chandler who will now suit up for the role.

“You know what? Green Lantern didn’t work out, but that’s okay,” Brolin told us. “It’s working out. Who is it going to be, Kyle Chandler? I love him as an actor, I think he’s wonderful, actually.”

Brolin continued and seemingly doesn’t rule out a DC role.

“And, you know, we’ll see what’s down the line, man,” he said about DC.

Marvel fans know Josh Brolin for playing Thanos. Rumors do offer an MCU return for Brolin, possibly as King Thanos in Avengers: Secret Wars, a multiversal variant of the Great Titan.

The actor is also known for playing Cable in the Deadpool moves who was recently name-dropped in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Regarding the Lanterns TV series, it is said to follow veteran Lantern Hal Jordan as he teams up with a young John Stewart to investigate a murder in the heartland of America. The show is said to be terrestrial and set on Earth instead of space.

“This is really a terrestrial-based TV show which is almost like True Detective with a couple of Green Lanterns who are space cops watching over precinct Earth,” Gunn explained when the DCU was first announced. “In it, they discover a terrifying mystery that ties into our larger story of the DCU.”
