Jon Watts Teases Spider-Man: Homecoming Post Credit Scene

It’s a no-brainer that Spider-Man: Homecoming will have a post-credit scene (or scenes), but it’s fun to speculate what it might be.

At Australia’s recent Supanova Expo, director Jon Watts is said to have said the Spider-Man: Homecoming scene is “worth sticking around for.”

Obviously Jon Watts couldn’t say more, but we can try to guess what the Spider-Man: Homecoming post-credit scene may feature.

We do know that following Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland will be appearing in The Avengers: Infinity War. Tom Holland also recently confirmed two sequels for Spider-Man: Homecoming, so more than likely the Spider-Man: Homecoming post-credit scene will go in the direction of those movies.

It would actually be mind-blowing if the Spider-Man: Homecoming post-credit scene featured reference to the black alien Spider-Man costume, which eventually goes on to become Venom. Wouldn’t it be something if Tom Holland wore the black Spider-Man costume in Avengers: Infinity War, and then got rid of it, with the costume then appearing in the Tom Hardy Venom flick? It would be an indirect way of connecting the MCU and Sony Spider-Man movies, which won’t be directly referencing one another, but would still make for a cool nod.

Other potential Spider-Man: Homecoming post-credit scene possibilities could be something with the Avengers or maybe even the Guardians of the Galaxy as the Infinity War featurette features Tom Holland side-by-side Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Pratt.

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” has a July 7, 2017 release directed by Jon Watts starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Michael Keaton, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr.

Synopsis:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
