John Wick Video Game In Development: Watch The Reveal Trailer

A brand-new John Wick video game has officially been announced, with Saber Interactive developing a AAA action title based on the hit franchise starring Keanu Reeves. The reveal came during Sony’s State of Play presentation and included the first trailer teasing the Baba Yaga’s return in interactive form.

The game is currently untitled, but Saber Interactive confirmed it is being developed in close collaboration with Lionsgate, franchise director Chad Stahelski, and Keanu Reeves himself. Reeves will lend both his likeness and voice to the project.

Original Story Set In The John Wick Timeline

According to Saber Interactive, the game will feature an original narrative set years before the “Impossible Task” that helped establish John Wick’s legendary reputation. The story will expand the franchise’s lore while introducing both familiar faces and new characters created specifically for the game.

The developers say players will step into the role of John Wick and explore the world of the High Table through a cinematic single-player experience designed to capture the feel of the movies.

Gun-Fu Combat And High-Speed Action

Saber promises all the signature elements fans expect from the franchise, including brutal gun-fu combat, cinematic camerawork, intense driving sequences, and immersive environments inspired by the films.

“Our goal is to create a wholly immersive experience unlike any other in video games,” game director Jesus Iglesias said in the announcement, explaining that the team wants players to feel like they are starring in a John Wick movie.

Matthew Karch, CEO of Saber Interactive, added that the studio is honored to be working directly with Reeves, Stahelski, and Lionsgate to bring the iconic action hero to gaming.

Platforms And Release Date

The John Wick game is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. No release date has been announced.

The project marks the biggest video game adaptation of the franchise to date and follows the success of the four films, which have grossed more than $1 billion worldwide while spawning spin-offs including The Continental and Ballerina.
