John Cena Wins At WrestleMania In Disappointing Match

John Cena has won at WrestleMania 41, winning his 17th WWE championship over Cody Rhodes, in what was a disappointing and slow match.

What was largely one-sided, Cena took his time most of the match with Rhodes, but just couldn’t pin the champ. Cena performed numerous Attitude Adjustments – including an Avalanche Attitude Adjustment off the ropes and even brought back the STF – but still could not land the pinfall or get the submission.

Finally, Rhodes started to fight back, but just when Rhodes turned the tide, the ref got knocked unconscious.

Travis Scott would then make his way to the ring and sided with Cena. However, Rhodes managed to take advantage, and just when Rhodes was about to get the 1-2-3, Travis Scott yanked the ref from the ring. Scott would continue to distract Rhodes, who gave Scott the Cross Rhodes.

However, John Cena was waiting in the corner with the heavyweight belt. Cena took a swing at Rhodes but Rhodes blocked and grabbed the belt away. Cena pleaded with Rhodes not to hit him with the belt. Rhodes – ever the good guy and his fatal mistake – didn’t take advantage of the situation. Cena sure did and kicked Rhodes with a low blow.

Cena then hit Rhodes with the belt, woke up the ref, and got the pinfall, becoming the champ for the 17th time, beating the record held by Ric Flair. Watch the highlights and video below.

John Cena will be appearing on the The Pat McAfee Show on Monday which airs 12-3pm ET on ESPN and YouTube.

Monday Night RAW will stream live on Netflix starting at 8pm ET.
