Producer Debunks Jack Sparrow’s Son In ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ 6, Seemingly Confirms Margot Robbie

Rumors about Pirates of the Caribbean 6 have been all over the place, including claims that the next movie would introduce Jack Sparrow’s son as the lead character. However, producer Jerry Bruckheimer shut down that speculation while offering a new update on the future of the franchise.

Speaking about the status of Pirates of the Caribbean, Bruckheimer explained that reports involving Jack Sparrow’s son are not accurate.

“We’re working on a screenplay. Hopefully we’ll get it right and then we’ll make it. We really want to make it, that’s for sure,” Bruckheimer said.

When asked directly about rumors that the story centered on Jack Sparrow’s son, Bruckheimer responded, “Not to my knowledge.”

Margot Robbie Project Still Alive?

The comments also seemed to revive interest in the separate Pirates of the Caribbean project tied to Margot Robbie.

For a while, it appeared Disney had shelved Robbie’s version after the actress suggested the project was no longer moving forward. Bruckheimer, however, indicated that multiple scripts remain in development.

“It’s two different movies,” he explained regarding the franchise’s future. “We hope to get both of them made.”

The remarks suggest Disney is still exploring more than one direction for the Pirates franchise, including the long-rumored Robbie-led film.

What About Johnny Depp?

The biggest question surrounding Pirates of the Caribbean 6 continues to be whether Johnny Depp will return as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Disney has not officially announced Depp’s involvement, and Bruckheimer stopped short of confirming anything. Still, fan interest remains focused on seeing Sparrow return after the character helped turn the franchise into a global box office powerhouse.

For now, Bruckheimer’s latest comments make one thing clear: the Jack Sparrow’s son rumor appears to be false, while the Margot Robbie project may still be part of Disney’s plans for the future of Pirates of the Caribbean.
