Jason Statham is back with another action movie, as Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Mutiny, the new thriller from director Jean-François Richet.
The movie centers on Statham’s Cole Reed, who witnesses the murder of his billionaire boss, gets framed for the crime, and then goes on the run while trying to uncover what’s really going on.
Lionsgate has also set the film for an August 21, 2026 theatrical release. Watch the trailer below.
Jason Statham Goes To War In The Trailer
The trailer teases exactly the kind of setup Statham fans expect. After being blamed for his boss’s murder, Cole Reed heads aboard a cargo ship and launches a one-man mission for revenge.
What starts as payback quickly turns into something bigger, with the footage pointing to an international conspiracy behind the killing.
Mutiny looks like another hard-edged action entry for Statham, with Lionsgate leaning into the familiar formula of a wronged man fighting his way through waves of enemies. The trailer also marks a reunion between Statham and Richet, who previously teamed on Plane.

Jean-François Richet directs from a script by J.P. Davis and Lindsay Michel. Lionsgate is releasing the movie from MadRiver Pictures and Punch Palace.

Lionsgate will release Mutiny in theaters on August 21, 2026.
