Crews are currently setting up production in Cleveland, Ohio – the birth place of the Man of Steel – for James Gunn’s Superman movie where set photos reveal a bookstore that pays tribute to Curt Swan and likely George Reeves.
Social media users have posted images and video from Cleveland where “Swan’s Books” is revealed and is located at “712 N. Reeves Ave.”
Curt Swan is a legendary comic book artist mostly associated with Superman who started drawing the character in 1948.
George Reeves played Superman in the Adventures of Superman television series from 1952–1958.
The Daily Planet is not a bookstore
On the window of the bookstore also happens to be a decal for the Daily Planet, but that’s not the Daily Planet logo, the decal is on the window telling customers that Swan’s Books carries “The Daily Planet Best Sellers & Favorites,” much like in the real world how the NY Times has a best seller list.
So no, the Daily Planet isn’t a bookstore. Recent casting announcements confirm the Daily Planet newsroom which includes Beck Bennett playing Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher MacDonald as Ron Troup, and Wendell Pierce is playing Perry White.
